I don't know who Reuben Levy is but I guess everyone is entitled to their opinions. This list will definitely stir up some feelings...LOL...I never rag on other drummers because it is not a competition in my opinion but I do agree with most of this list less the harsh words and Steve Gadd. Steve Gadd overrated ??Really?? Different strokes I guess!
Check it out.

Actually I would only debate him on 1. Steve Gadd. The rest I pretty much agree with him on.
Wow. Just wow. Somehow, I don't think Max, Charlie, Hal or Ginger (or any of them for that matter) give a rip who thinks they're over-rated. They're too busy enjoying the fruits of their labor.
I can see where Max, Charlie & Ginger could be considered "lucky". We're it not for their respective bands and the success of the band as a whole, we may never have heard of them. I think Hal has established himself on his own.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
These lists are always interesting. I never heard of this journalist either but he was pretty harsh but comical. I want to know his 10 most underated drummers.
Somehow I knew before going there that Lars would make the list ...

All drummers are kinda over rated. After all, all we do is beat on things for the amusement of others.
LOL
all the best...
Moon, and for that matter, the entire membership of The Who, drive me nuts with their work:
Moments of remarkable brilliance -- but for the most part nothing special.
Moon was most definitely unique in his approach -- and -- when he was not completely chemically wasted, could actually lay down decent tracks in the studio.
As you watch video of him and The Who, you will rarely see him use a high hat.
Gretsch USA & Zildjian(What Else Would I Ever Need ?)
Well, at least none of us made the list. That's a good thing!
Six Piece Mapex Saturn V, Five Piece DW Performance Series, NOS Slingerland Snares, Centent Ardor and Emperor Cymbals

I'd remove Keith Moon and add Mick Fleetwood.
What no Neil Peart or Bonzo but Tommy Lee is on the list. Something wrong there lol

This is Tom in his disguise. Never would have guessed. I thought maybe he was ?love.
Except for Gadd, pretty accurate IMHO. I'd add a few others as well.
