Re: Best Sounding Albums/CDs
Ah ,as we all know a lot of what sounds great audiophile wise may not hold up over the years.
I find Romantic Warrior dated sounding and the drum sound (especially Lenny's snare) choked and flat.
A lot of RTF recordings are just so uneven.
The sound that Chick gets out of a mini Moog just drives me to distraction.
I like the acoustic No Mystery cut as it is just as perfect as a recording there is,but the electronic stuff is just dreadful at times.
Gino Vanelli Gist of the Gemini I find to be the best of what Gino has done recording wise.
Steely Dan Royal Scam floats my boat material wise and recording wise..
Jean Luc Ponty Imaginary Voyage or Enigmatic Ocean are killer recordings.
ELP Tarkus The remastered stuff is punchy and ageless.
Yes 90215 was damn near perfect performance and audiophile wise.
First two Ambrosia albums are pretty awesome sounding ,but the drums are just too uneven to make them stellar.
Miles Davis Kind of Blue is just ageless material wise and recording wise.
