Like the rest have said, 12 o clock, in line with the badge. I know It doesn't make a difference but I want it to look good.

12 O'clock. Absolutely mandatory, they won't work otherwise.

You can always spot an OCD drummer. The head logos are always lined up, and between songs they're always rotating their cymbals so the logos are facing them.

It appears to be endemic on DC.

I'm extremely particular about the logos of the heads! I like them at the top of the drum no matter the position.

I just swapped heads and remembered this thread.

From the driver's seat: all logos face 12:00.

Yeah, I had them that way too, facing away and lined up with the badges but DW put two badges on the toms on the Collectors '07 kit so having the logos line up with either badge puts them off-center.

It's just cool to know that there's so much commonality among drummers. For decades (until this thread) I never thought that anyone cared but me. I started right off the bat lining the logos with the badge/sound holes. I found that from behind the drums it was easier to know where the sound hole was in relation to an audience's perspective.

    all the best...

The things I learn as I get older. Who would have ever thought that the positioning of the little hole on the side of the drum would make that much difference. I always thought it was for seeing into the drum, or seeing out, depending on 1's perspective.

Now I can spend the rest of my day waiting for the next informative piece of B..........no, I mean important info.

It's 1 of the perks of getting old.

Rich, there has been a ton of things on DC that has been posted by drummers and learned by other drummers, BUT, there have been a few posts that make me sit back and wonder.

Funny song, and the girl is HOT.

Oh now I get it...You're older than drum heads logos......

Makes it difficult to appreciate the importance of how to orientate them....LOL
