    Default writing/drawing on your heads

I've seen a couple of big name drummers using heads with writing and drawings on them recently. They were the tom heads. Initially I thought ''auction'' but not sure. You could tell the heads from one of the kits have been on for awhile.

Maybe its just something some people do? I've drawn a circle on one before that didn't have a dot but that's all

Not in decades! As a kid once, I drew a Ludwig logo on the front of the bass reso on my first set of Japanese stencil jobbies. A little dreaming I guess.

    All the best...

I have written the set list and bpm for the songs on my snare head for gigs

^^ This... The snare head is a great place for a set list. Plus it makes a great fan gift if the band signs it after the gig.

Yeah non of our set lists ever stayed the same... so writing on the head would be a complete waste...
And are you looking up every single BPM before you start that you need to write that down?! (no offense)

Even as a kid I didn't doodle on my head.
Only time I wrote on it was to sign it because it broke or I was swapping it out and we were selling it.

I like a very clean look. I'm a little OCD as we all know lol

I've only seen one drummer with actual words drawn out on his toms. BTW, I cleaned it up for this family oriented drum forum...

Nigel Olsson Elton John's longtime drummer is one that I saw with the drawings and such on this heads and he does do it for auction. Here is a nice interview with him...
