    Default Drumset Recomendation

My neighbors kid wants a drumset but they don't want to spend a lot of money. I've heard that the Ludwig Accent is a good choice for a decent starter set. Any other opinions before I try to advise them?

Any of the starter models will do. Ludwig Accent is a good choice and an industry standard. Any brand name will have a bit more resale value. Remember, you get what you pay for.

well the accent is the kit in my jazz band at school, a beginner kit that has alot of potential, and sounds incredible in the right situation

then if your you want more wood for your money, taye(tie) uses a birch basswood combo in all of their beginner-intermediate kits, and they are remarkable kits

i started with a kit called orbitone. it is produced by taye like squier is fender. The shells are excellents a mix of birch basswood and mahogony. they sound excellent but the hardware is not the best, but perfect for entry. The snare stand is one of my favorites though

what is the price you think they want?

Buying used will get you a much better quality kit at a better price than most beginner kits you can buy new at the store.

I agree with drummer , I bought an Acsent kit for my son , got everything with it , throne pedal, cymbals , sticks and had it shipped to me for about 500 . bucks. Good starter kit for the money and no extras to buy either .
