    i keep hearing ppl talk about a drop cluch. what is it?

    google it....i think it's like a system that allows for the hh to be instantly dropped and it keeps the hh together for you so you can move your foot to the double pedal and keep your hh closed....i think...

    It's a clutch for double bass drummers, for the hi-hat. When you move your left foot off the hi-hat onto the slave pedal, the hi-hats remain open. So they created a clutch where you could just hit a metal bar with your stick and it would "drop" the top hi-hat for you. You have to buy one separately if you're new to double bass.

    a drop clutch, how much do they normally cost?
    When drummers are away from their instruments, which is quite often, they often resort to air drumming. Although often distracting to others, playing air drums provides drummers with a mental practice session that can help a great deal.

    The first one I ever saw was on Tommy Lee's kit. Seemed pretty cool, and that was 15 years ago. They're probably really hi-tech now.
