one word trick
Hey guys, long time, no see!
I am a metal player, getting faster with my pedals.
For almost two years I've been using my Yamaha DFP9310 Double Chain Drive Double Bass Drum Pedals.
They do okay, but feel sluggish, and I've been interested in buying more responsive pedals that have no speed limit, and do better with less force.
I've heard the Axis Longboards are good. Any other ideas, suggestions?
Let me know, and thanks in advance!

Ask DWdrummer about the Pearl powershifter Eliminator double pedals. He just got those. I'm not getting Powershifter Eliminator single pedal pretty soon. I'm not into metal or double bass drumming. But anyways from the reviews I have been reading, I've heard some great stuff about these pedals.

For metal playing axis longboards, tama iron cobras and pearl powershifter eliminator are by far the best,it depends how much cash you got really but these 3 are deffinetly the leading pedals for fast playing iv had a go of all 3 and longboards where the easiest to do the heel toe technique by far as thats what there designed for really! it all depends on your playing style
either any of the dw double pedals or the iron cobras
Ive played on many double pedals and i love the gibraltars, dw's, tama iron cobras or axis longboards but i havent tried the pearl eliminators....
A HUGE word of warning though Axis pedals are a love hate deal and i would not buy them if you didnt use heel toe as your primary style and DEFINETLY wouldnt if you havent learned heel toe, but if you want to learn thats ok but if your buying them and arent using heel toe you should just buy a different kind because axis longboards were designed specifically for heel toe.

I've played all the DW's, Tama Iron cobra and the New Mapex and I swear the Pearl Eliminators blow them all away, and I just seriously don't think for the HUGE jump in price from the Eliminator to the Trick or Axis pedals, that you will see a very big difference at all, if you go on musiciansfriend.com and read reviews about the Elims total of like 160+ they all give 4.5-5 stars, my vote is Elims all the way, they truly smoke any other pedal and they are built like a rock, and they come with a very nice bag, and they also give you the option of four different cams, can you say that about any other pedals, not to mention these babies are smooth and effortless to play.
I will shut up now.

I would agree with the majority that pearl eliminators would be the best. I think it depends on your playing style though. Iv heard pearl are better for heel up, iron cobras for heel down and the axis for heel toe. I guess what you choose depends on your foot technique
I play strictly heel up. Not because it is better, it's just how I play. I have also been fortunate enough to play on all the major brands, excluding Trick. I would ask what you have played on and what you liked? I like the "solid" feel of the Iron Cobras. They are the only Tama product I own. I use Pearl racks, boom arms and a Pearl snare. ( Chad Smith) But I just thought the Iron Cobras felt better than the Eliminators. Go with what feels best!
i would say the elim's, they look like the P122's but with the double chain, and im sure are way more steady, and as DW said, the different cams so you can have it set to you, i think if i dont get a double bass set next, im gonna get the elimantor, but i wouldnt suggest the p122tw unless you are getting doubles for the first time.
