    Default Roland td8

    Hi guys,
I am a newbie, just wanted to get a few opinions, i have being playing drums for the last 12 years and have decided to get myself an electric kit, i have worked out that Roland seen to be the best ( in my opinion), i have played the TD3, its good but i found the solid rubber toms a bit to unrealistic, i then played a TD6kx which has mesh drums all round and found it brilliant to play, I then came across a guy selling a second hand TD8 V cheap, he said it is two years old, i hope its not out of date, i just wanted to know has the TD8 seen any changes in this time, and would it be better than the TD 6kx?

Thanks and all replys are much appriciated,
    Ronan

What little I know of E drums, Roland seem to be the standard that all of the companies aspire to. I have only played a kit or two in Guitar Center but have seriously considered an E kit for my son and myself to practice on.

Welcome to the forum bye the way.

I used to own a TD-8 and I now own a TD-20. The TD-8 is a great brain, is not out dated by any means nor will it be for a long time. And it is nicer then the TD-6.

+1. I have a DTX now, but I'd love to own a TD-20 someday with 4 mesh toms, snare and kick.

That wold be E drum Nirvana.
