Aren't the rack tom clamps and mounts somewhat destined to cover the badges unless they're offset to some degree?

You know I never have, but yes if you did do that it would show the badges..also the toms have badges on either side of mount, so it would be easy to do, just never gave it that much thought...

Yeah I love it as well, I have not seen it before but honestly I am still a newbie to Yamaha so not sure if it's new or not.

I just ordered and received this same snare drum two weeks ago. It looks and sounds wonderful. It is the first Yamaha drum I have purchased, and I am in no way disappointed!

I was playing with it last night and found the sweet spot and man.. what a great sounding snare. I still have stock heads on it and am wondering which one to eventually put on the batter side. Leaning towards an ambassador X but have not decided yet. What do you have on yours?

Hi MDK! I still have the stock heads on the snare. I have no plans to change anything right now. Like you, I have found the sweet spot, with the help of my local drum tech. If you should make any head changes or adjustments, please let me know!

Was close to buying a new stage custom as a 3rd kit but even at the great price of $650 I could not talk myself into spending that much for a 3rd beater kit to leave at my bass players house for rehearsals. So I decided to search CL with a budget of $200 tops and the only wood I knew did not want was Basswood so most poplar, luan etc would work.

Lo and behold I found this 5 pc stage custom, have not looked up the numbers but pretty sure it is an old falkata, birch, luan one which I know from experience is more than serviceable.

Came with a 13 x 3 Mapex (new logo) metal piccolo snare and a snare stand for $150.

Was very nasty dirty and when I took heads off the amunt of wood chips and dust was staggering. Has some scratches and nicks in it but shells are true and bearing edges are surprisingly smooth, I doubt it was cleaned or heads removed for atleast 10 yrs.

12, 13, 16 22 sounds pretty good with seemingly very old dented evans heads on it. Will replace down the road but for now it will do what I need it to for now.

You should probably return the kit. It doesn't look like it matches the chair very well.
