Unable to pick between 'em. On the ol' Craigslist and eBay these guys tend to show up for around $150-200. They're all available, and I can't decide which I like best. So I'm curious what you experts think of them. In terms of reliability, durability, all that good stuff.
Example: right now there's a set of IC's for $150 and one for $140, and then a set of Pearl Elim Powershifters for $200. No idea what I should lean towards. The IC's don't seem to come with a case, but the Elim's look practically brand new. |

Any particular reason, or just that kinda intangible "it feels better" thing? I know it's hard to explain just what we like about one pedal versus another, but I'm on the horns of a dilemma here, LOL.
Right now I'm heavily leaning toward the Cobras, but the Powershifters look great and I adored the DW9000's so I'd imagine the 5000's would be also good. |

Ive always liked Tama's hardware, IMO its the most durable, and best value for the money.

I've played the DW 5000's and now play the IC's. Like the IC's as much as the DW's. My IC's came with a case but I bought them new. E-mail the seller and ask if he has a case for them. Don't know anything about the Pearls.

The IC's are nice but in a side by side comparison, the Pearls were smoother and had more reaction to the foot than the IC's.
Pearl Elim's. Plus with my Pearl Elim's case I can carry my mic cables. No extra room in the IC case.

Pearl's stuff is way more adjustable, it's like getting multiple pedals in one. If you properly care for any pedal it will be excellent, but why not get one where you can dial in your own feel?

Well I sent out a bunch of texts to people in my area selling Elims and IC's, so it's basically going to come down to two things:
1) Which is available 2) Which is in better shape Whatever I can get my hands on, I'm buying. A guy is buying my cymbals tomorrow for $175, so if any of them are available, I'mma take 'em. Updates as they come. ![]() Thanks for the advice, guys. Sorry I didn't make a "decision", the pedals are all just awesome so I couldn't settle on one, thus I'm letting the fates decide, haha. |

Yeah. The big thing that I'm happy about is that no one either said "OMG search" and no one said one of the three was absolutely terrible. So that is a BIG help since I can focus on convenience and availability rather than holding out and skipping other deals just for one.

I got the DW5000 double pedal and I use two single Pearl Elim 2000B (belt) with red cam. I love the Pearl pedals because they are so smooth and light and as Russ mentioned so many adjustable parts. The Pearl cases are nice with a strap and a handle with room to spare. The DW cases are molded to fit the pedals and hold well in place.
If I ever needed to replace the DWs, I'd opt for the Pearl Elim. double pedal. Edit: Here's a thread I started a while back. If you go for the Pearl Elim pedal make sure you get all of the cams and the tiny allen wrench. http://www.drumchat.com/showthread.p...t-10849p2.html Scroll to down to the end of the thread and I got a chart explaining the cams

I don't really find the 5000's and the ICs to be all that different. They're both basically rebranded camco powerglides.

I was in the same dilemma a few months back. I ended up with the Pearl and have been very happy with it so far.

However, after puttering around with some Demon Drives, I can say I understand why people buy those, but man I will -never- own a set of those unless I can do 250bpm double bass without blinking. |

[quote=MisterMixelpix;271411]They feel VERY different. I ran up to GC today to play around some more, and either I was remembering wrong or I was doing something different before, because the IC's just were NOT feeling right. The DW's and the Elims were great, snappy and responsive, but that IC was sluggish. Felt like it was not only tough to get to the bottom but also didn't come up fast enough.QUOTE]
Could've been the set up, or the weight of the beaters or beater weight that the put on the IC. Or, one may have had the linear cam and the other the accelerator cam. You can get the IC and 5000 in both varriants. Anyway, I personally prefer the powershifter eliminator to either one of them. It's nice that they give you a selection of cams to get it set up the way you want. I still like 5000s and ICs (my pedal is basically the IC before it was actually called the IC), I just like the Pearl pedal better.
