Great kits guys! they look great! I went to a Ray Luzier clinic a while ago, and his DDrums sounded phenomenal!! So heavy and punchy. Made me want a set.

Looking for a second kit (for my second band). Some of the places we play are smaller venues, and hence smaller stages. I really want to get a slightly more mobile and smaller footprint kit to dedicate to this cover band and leave my Sonors in the rehearsal studio and for gigs with my original (and louder) band. I am a pretty big guy so the popular club kits seem like the equivalent of my driving a Smartcar...not a pretty or practical sight!

The ddrum pocket kits are available at great prices, and are actually the same price right now. So the questions is, Ash or Maple? The Ash finishes are more appealing to me but that is secondary. I really could use any insight that this community has to offer. And quickly, before my wife spends the $$ (j/k...kinda)

ive played on the ash, they were a red ash with black hardware, insanely good looking but a nice loud kit for sure.

Hi I just wanted to show off my shells. Custom ordered DDRUM DOMINION MAPLE POCKET-snow color, 10" x 7" & 12" x 7" rack toms, 14" x 12" & 16" x 12" floor toms, 20" x 20" kick & 14" x 6" SPAUN acrylic snare. I've pretty much only seen a DOMINION kit w/ the 20" x 20" kick and 2 or 3 toms at the most. Only once have I seen that same kit with 4 toms. After playing this kit for 2 weeks I couldn't imagine playing anything but a maple kit with a 20"kick. Let me know if you like it.-I've got a pair of zildjian a custom mastersound 12" hi hats but im waiting on the drum rack and auxilary hi hat clamp from MUSICIANS FRIEND, I'll post new picks in a week or so.

Welcome to Drum Chat, Drummerboy1975.

For the snare are you looking at new or used? Are you buying or selling?

Generally speaking used probably roughly $100.00 based on what I've seen browsing the net.

New...possibly selling for $200.00. I'm being optimistic. Keep in mind I'm no expert so I could be way off. Sounds like a cool finish, too, so if you own are are planning on it, we really encourage showing it off to the rest of us by posting pictures.

Welcome again and I expect there will be many other better responses and some by people who actually know something...

Thanks Bish. Yea, it's used but on about a year old and the kid that has it has taken great care of it. I can pick it up for 120.

I just can't find a picture of another one anywhere. I wanna make sure i know what I'm getting. I wanna add it to my Mapex that I gig with every weekend for a different sound other than the original steel one that came with the kit.

My Mapex are Honey Amber so that Ddrum should really stick out...

This is it.....

I wanna make certain that's the original finish on the drum. It bothers me because I can not find another one on the Internet anywhere. Anyone else know more about these sparkle maple Dominions

hey dudes,
I eagerly await the deliver of my new Ddrum defiant Dbop 4 piece,
I got it in the lime "verde" green sparkles with black hardware,
looks like a beast and by all reports sounds like one too
I'm told it exceeds expectation of a basswood kit with a small kick so should be good.
I couldnt continue borrowing kits for my gigs and my own old beginner kit wasn't gig
quality.
was tossing up between this and a gretsch club mod. I like a 4 piece and a small bass drum, I prefer a more compact kit so the 20" kick helps keep the toms in close and low (I'm not very tall and like to be above my rack tom)
I'll post some pics once it's ready to go

i am a great fan of ddrums, but dont own a kit myself. i've been playing for a few years now and just recently joined a band. right now i only own a really crappy electronic kit, but was thinking about either getting the ddrum amx ash/maple hybrid (4-pc) or the ddrum dominion maple (5-pc.) i like the look of the amx better, and would honestly rather get that one if the sound was better/equal. any tips or help??

Welcome to Drum Chat, cgross220.

Frankly, unless it's Saturns Maple/Walnut combo, I like a non mixed wood shell. I like Maple myself. I'd go that route.

I don't see very many additions to this thread, so here's some new pics of my DDrum Dominion kit.

Set up includes:
DDrum Dominion 10", 12", 14", and 16" maple toms, 22"x20" maple kick, 5.5"x14" maple snare, 3"x13" Pearl brass piccolo snare.
18" Sabian AAX med thin crash, 16" Sabian AA med thin crash, 13" Sabian AA fusion hihats, Zildjian 22" ring ride, 16" Wuhan china, 8" and 10" Wuhan splash cymbals.
Tom heads are Remo coated Ambassador, Kick drum head is Aquarian SKII, Snare heads are Evans coated G1.
The hardware is a mix-match. I bought what was on sale.
Kick pedal is the Pearl Eliminator.

Mark...
