The tags just say premier percussions. It is a swirly wood grain stained dark grey w/gold hardware. I was not able to find one like it on the web. Any idea would be appreciated. It comes with a premier pedal, high hat stand and cymbal stands w/a zildjian 20" ride, hats and a 16" crash.

Here's a Premier "Olmpic" snare from the 60's, anyone know what kind of wood they used? Thanks.

Help.

I bought what I thought were a set of Xpk's. They are a beautiful blood red lacquer.
I love how they look.

But, a co worker say he thinks they are apk's.

My question..." Did apk's come in lacquered finish or just wrapped as I believed.?"

Thanks anyway, but after some research I've found that these are indeed XPK's

And, after reading some history of premier, I love these even more.

Pics to come soon

Default Re: Premier APK Drums

Hi,

New to the board, and was looking for any info on a drumset I recently bought very cheap, like 250.00 . It's an APK in white satin flame , I believe from 1997 with perfect condition hardware, and the wrap is in great condition as well. Fusion sizes 22, 10, 12, 14, and I recently bought the snare that would have came with this kit. Not much on the internet except to say it was considered a beginner set, some like the sound, and some say there garbage, anyway with the way the future of Premier look's I figured I'd grab them. Also from what I understand these were made in England, and some of the last before they switched, and went oversea's. Any additional info would be great, I would like to find some add on's in that finish. Thank's Joe

We Premier guy & girls need to email Premier and demand US distribution. So we can buy some new stuff to go with our old. I would love to have a new dbl pedal and some new stands. Its like putting a Chevy motor in a Olds , you just messed up a good Olds.

Thanks for the welcome. Anybody have any info, more than what I was able to find out about these APK's ? One question is perhaps what heads would work best, since my other kit is a 72 Slingerland maple, this APK seems more tricky.
Thanks

Signia Maple is a great kit..with the cymbals and hardware plus extra's i would say in the region of $1200 maybe a bit more anything less than that and you are doing very well..good luck with it.

nice kit(s)! I have quite a few vintage pieces parts here.

Premier is "working" on US Distribution, and should have news fairly soon.

i just got these, Pick them up on friday, Mint condition, £330..Bargain i reckon, no snare with it, i already have the chad smith and a velvetone black panther, i've wanted this colour for ages and a 24" bass drum..2 birds..one stone, i can sell my m-birch with rack and 6 toms for more than what i paid for these. i like my mapex but have fallen out of love with it a little, and i don't like the colour now either.

they look like they have some decent artist with Premier now, Chris Sharrock - Oasis, Steve Barney-Anastacia, Nicko McBrain-Iron Maiden, Donavan Hepburn-Take That, Timm Biery-Nils Lofgren, Luke Bullen-K T Tunstall, Philip Selway-Radiohead, Anders Johansson-HammerFall to name a few, if you go onto there site there is a store locator, There seems to be a fair few dealers in the US, Unless it's out of date.
