Hey guys, I'm a member of Tim "Ripper" Owens forum (the guy that replaced Rob Halford in Judas Priest for a while, the film "Rock Star" was based on him), and I wrote a tribute song in his style that the guys on the forum contributed to.
Unfortunately, none of us is a drummer. I played all the instruments, with others contributing lyrics and vocal melodies, and I did the drums in Fruity Loops. Surprisingly, I've had compliments on the drums, but it's pretty obvious they really suck and the song would be a lot better with something decent. Here it is, "I Am The One" http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndid=506081039 My problem is, I only have Fruity Loops and EZ Drummer Lite. EZ Drummer Lite can't be used to put drums into a track, so it's useless, and Fruity Loops I just can't to get to grips with. It's so time consuming, I end up just making a one bar beat and looping it for the whole song, adding the odd cymbal or hi-hat part when the song needs it (you'll see what I mean if you listen to the song!). Can you guys please offer some advice on how to tackle the drums on this using Fruity Loops. If anyone can do me a good drum track I'd be over the moon (I can email you the backing track without drums) but I'd also like to get to grips with Fruity Loops as I write quite a lot of rock/metal stuff and need to get some decent drums on my songs. Thanks all! |

I've had a reply, but it requested a PM, and I can't send PMs till I have 15 posts! Doh!
So, if you see this, PM me your email and I'll send you the drumless track. And thanks for the offer of help, it's very much appreciated. |

Yeah man I can definately see that the drums need some help. I could try to lay something down for you, I have an E-kit and a midi interface I can do my best as soon as I get my kit fixed. Unfortunately I am not a metal drummer but I may be able to help and I have no experiance with Fruity Loops.

Hopefully, one of them falls into that "good drum track" requirement. PS: #4 is my favorite Last edited by ABCgang; 02-07-2010 at 09:41 PM. |

That's up to Diocletian to post or not. It is his song afterall and he may be seeking something different than what I sent him.

Sorry guys haven't been on here in a while. The drum tracks ABCgang sent me weren't really right for the song. They had a 70s rock kinda feel whereas the song is more of modern metal thing.
I had another guy on here offer to do something for me but I haven't heard from him in a while. |

I'm a huge fan of Death (the band!) BTW, but that had hooks and memorable riffs.

Actually I think there are lots of memorable Charred Walls of the Damned moments which really got hooked in my mind due to their melody:
- Ghost Town pre-chorus, chorus and solo; - the whole From the Abyss. I think this song is beautiful! I love its bass line too; - Creating Our Machine's solo; - the "pre-solo" in Blood on Wood; - Manifestation has got awesome riffs and melodies; - Voices Within the Walls is a melancholic and beautiful song; - Fear in the Sky has some pretty hooking riffs and melodies too. Maybe you should give it a second try. Regarding the drumming, I think it's a lot more oriented towards the music than any previous work from Christy, excluding Iced Earth. I even dare to say I can play a couple of the songs! Regards!
