Default Want to start recording some Videos

Hi

I want to start recording some fairly decent videos of some drum covers.
I have a Canon Camcorder (new) and I am thinking of Buying a Boss 8 Track Recorder this weekend. Its a digital recorder with a USB (model BR-600). Would anyone else recommend this? I have no idea what I am doing! so any advice on Micing etc and recording software for my laptop would be reall appreciated. I presume for my purposes I wouldnt need a really expensive Mic Set, I was hoping to spend about £120-£150?

Many thanks
James

I don't know what the costs were to set up a system like his but this is what you want to do right?

It sounds like you're on the money, I don't know much about that particular recorder but it sounds like it can do what you need. You might also consider the versatility of a Zoom R16 recorder/mixer for around 350-400. It has USB, can capture(built in condenser)and store recordings, mix the recordings(includes onboard effects), connect to computer, or record through the computer. It also has the ability to run on AA battery power, so it's fully portable as well. I would strongly recommend giving it a look, even if Zoom or Samson brand isn't your cup of tea. I suspect it will rise in popularity in the next few years..
