I don't think anyone said that they're useless or not worth buying. They're the same level as b8 cymbals. I have a b8 crash and hi hats. Like them a lot.

Exactly. Although, different beginner cymbals from each company do sound different. I think most of the B8 line sounds a little better than ZBT, and Paiste PST5 sounds better than either. But not everyone will agree with that. In the end, it's the sound you like. I used a Sabian 8" B8 splash in a stack for a while, and also my sizzle crash is an old 14" Zildjian ZHT with rivets in it.

They said it's best not to buy beginner cymbals. To me, I really don't consider there to be beginner cymbals. I consider there to be different sounding cymbals. You could be the biggest, most respected drummer in the world, but if a zbt, b8, or hcs has the sound u want/need; BUY IT

Even planet z's have a purpose. Use them as spares instead of throwing them away. It can't hurt unless u want to sell them

Selling them is what I always do with these cymbal lines lol. The good thing is that if you look around on Craigslist, Ebay and other used online sites, there are so many used beginner cymbals at cheap prices, some in almost brand new shape all the time. So, you really never have to buy a brand new one because people are always trying to get rid of theirs.

I've heard of them. Out of business now, I believe. They were made in USA (Utah?), and I've heard they were budget/intermediate level price but high quality. I see them on Craig's List every so often.

The sabian HH line is dark vintage. You may want to look at a raw bell dry rides. The series is offered in AA, AAX, HH, and HHX. I have the HH and I think it sounds the best. Lots of stick definition with a dark sound

The Sabian HHX Evolution 20" ride is very dark as well (at least mine was) if you want some crashability. Also the HHX Legacy rides, more for lighter playing though. I think the Evolution, Paragon and various Raw Bell rides are the most versatile Sabian rides out there that you can play the most styles with.

Not trying to be rude at all, but if someone wants to respond, they will post, you don't have to keep double or tripple posting. You have already brought back an old thread on Meinl HCS cymbals so you could maybe post there, seeing as this was about ZBT's. You may get more input in the correct thread rather than one about something else.

I think you would have more luck creating a thread for your questions or concerns.
