    Default Recent Jam

Last weekend, I played an impromptu jam with some guys at a house party and one of the party-goers shot some video. Sorry for the lights. No one mentioned they were aimed wrong. The camera was freaking out a bit.

The first is an instrumental version of Low Rider, played as a 3-piece. They just started playing and I had no idea what song was coming next. Then we did some Pink Floyd with the same guitarist and some guys from my originals band. We don't play out but we made an exception as this party was thrown by the singer and the bassist (not the bassist you see in the video). Nice to be able to have an outdoor party in December! Anyway, we had a blast and played for a solid 2 and a half hours. The singer has a business that provides party decorations so we had some cool decorations.

That's awesome! We throw a big outdoor party/jam every August. We grill hotdogs, pot-luck food, outdoor Tiki bar, keg beer, the works. We usually have 100-150 people and at least 2 or 3 other bands and 10 other musicians show up. We all jam from around 5pm into the early morning. Needless to say, the quality of the music is pretty bad by 1am, LOL.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
