I always liked songs with interesting and poetic lyrics. Also, songs with full accompaniment and interesting arrangement. Springsteen comes to mind. Thunder Road as an example. As "cheesy" as most of Meatloaf's stuff was, I always loved the actual song Bat out of Hell. Others include Al Stewart's Roads To Moscow. The early Kansas stuff was killer too.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
OMG!! So many great songs. Both familiar favorites and stuff I never knew existed. Awesome thread. Totally time suck though!! I just lost a half hour with no problem at all.

My all-time favorite song is "Song for America" by Kansas. I also really like an instrumental song by the group Camel called "Rhayander." I also like some of the songs we play at church, such as "Revelation Song" and "Great Are You Lord." Peace and goodwill.
