Last week I turned my drums around again. They're now in the middle of the room. Nothing beats that deep kick drum sound.

Turned my drums around again. Now facing the wall. I love the sound of the kick against the wall. A nice quiet slap

I have my drum kit in the basement on one side, and the vibraphone on the other.
I have a pad and a couple of snare drums in a bedroom.

    Proudly playing:
    Doc Sweeney Drums
    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!

Yes there is a PA, 2000 watts of powered speakers, Kawai electronic piano, one kit fully miked, plus vocal mics, and stands. I quite often drum with my drummer buddy, or my kids, or I try and teach my kids friends by drumming along with them.

It is awesome. I wish I wouldn't have ever wasted any time or money on E pads.

It is a very simple and inexpensive build so I always suggest that people just start out with the converted kit. It's pretty much only $40-$50 per drum and a couple hours work.

Mine are currently in my living room, but will soon be moved into their own room.

I'm fine in the basement......of course my wife mentioned I can't get more drums until we refinish the basement......we'll see about that

I used to have my kit right up against the wall. After missing the boom from my bass drum, I moved the kit back about 2 feet. Kit sounds great now. I've even noticed that the snare sounds more open.

I have 2 of my drum kits in my brothers basement; one permanently set up for band practice and the other in cases, ready to load for gigs. My other 2 kits are stored on shelves in my own basement. That doesn't include the two Ludwig project kits, which are in various pieces strung out on my basement floor. Another year, and it will be time to "thin the herd", LOL.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

One of my sets is at church (the only gig I'm playing nowadays)

Converted E-kit is at home in the "Playroom"

and the third is at my sons school.............he had a talent show this morning................played his first solo................made a few mistakes, but only he knew. One of my other sons played Amazing Grace on the harmonica

I was so proud of them both

I'd be proud, too. Be sure to tell them so. Sounds like you are a good father, and there can be no greater gift to your sons. I could never get a single one of my kids or grandkids interested in music.
