I've had the migrating bass before. Very frustrating. Especially when it also pushes my kick drum mic with it. I can pull the drum back between songs, but I need someone else to put the mic back in place.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
I like his videos and his playing. I look forward to what he gets up too on YT. Fun to watch.
very interesting...
He does a lot of cool stuff and sometimes funny.
I enjoy his channel a LOT. He has a great attitude and legitimately fantastic tips. The split-the-felt idea is one I absolutely can't believe I've never thought of.

I have seen that rope trick before.
100 years ago when I was first starting out, I found a "carpenter's closet" at a theater where we were playing a gig.
I got a 1-foot piece of scrap 2X4 and nailed it down to the stage in front of my bass reso hoop...............most stable bass drum anyone ever played.
After the gig I pulled the scrap wood up with the claw hammer and put it back where it belonged..............nobody was the wiser.
