Hi there ATC! Welcome to Drum Chat! Alway nice to hear that someone has taken the drums out of mothballs, so to speak, and is back in the groove! Again, welcome.
Having said that please report to the "Newbie Initiation" thread, and follow the instructions on the first post. I think you'll find it fun, and so will we!

All other "newbies" please do the same.
Hey fox, I see you're a Mapex man! Is that a silver sparkle, or a white? Either way it looks nice!
what kind of mapex is that fox? it looks nice
interesting set up atc.
and nice finish on those mapex fox
Thanks! Iron cobra?
Sorry, but I don't know much of the brands/names/slang in the drumming community. Basically, I bought the kit and just taught myself and jammed in my room all these years.
Mine? How so?Quote:

Looks cool Fox!
ATC, it looks odd because the toms are nearly vertical and very far apart, compared to the normal almost flat close together preference
Like I said...that was my first kit so I set it up to what felt good and looked good at the time, and just left it like that ever since.
After being a member here, and setting them back up again, I moved them a little closer, lower, and more horizontal (based on the pictures I've seen here). It feels funny now...but again...I'm comming out of a 3+ year non-playing spell. I've got to learn where everything is again, so I thought I would mount everything closer so I can become faster. I would like to get a rack so I can add another tom and have more choices as where to mount them someday.
And I've got to re-arrange my room...AGAIN! I don't have enough room to get to my desk/computer now.
I'll try and get a picture tomorrow...

Please invest in a hihat clutch- It'll add some diversity to your playing
Nice kit Leeman!!
ACT, I like the setup much better now. I'm sure you will get used to it, and it will allow you to move between drums with less effort. I also agree with JL that you need a hi-hat clutch! Can't open the hats without a clutch! LOL
Hmmm...Never heard of a clutch before. I usually just leave it closed and keep my left foot on the bass pedal. And, if you look closely, you can see that the top hi-hat "clamp" is gone. Must have been lost during storage...so it's not like I can use the hi-hat anyways.
Also, my left foot pedal is smack dab in the way of where I would like my hi-hat to be. A remote hat would be nice...
Yes the hi-hat "top clamp" is what they're talking about.
You could go one step further and get a drop clutch which is really useful for double bass pedal players.
Wow.....
I like Your kit Leeman.....
Can you describe what kind of cymbals do you have there, dude...
All I can saw is Paiste's crash.....
Best regards
-Totti-
PDP kit finish is charcoal fade over kurillian birch and the cymbals are Paiste 302 hats, 402 14" and 16" crash and 502 18" crash ride they are economy cymbals but they sound really good
Hey That kit looks very familiar lol, maybe because I have the same kit, so how do you like it man? I love my kit, I just bought the add-on 8" tom.
Welcome to thew forum, we already have somethin in common lol.
Here is mine just in case your interested.
