What did you do today drumwise? I rearranged my room and now have my kit in my room. I also got my record player setup with speakers right behind the kit for some serious old school shedding. What did you do today?

Nothing today but practiced for about 45 min yesterday.
Did a lot of syncopation training, and mozambique playing.
30 mins practise on newer stuff
I took mine apart and cleaned it up and then went out and bought me a rug to go under it and it looks great.
Keep drumming
Nothing...my drums are still in their cases all over the floor where I left them after my gig last friday. :icon_mrgreen:
I had a good practice today. I started by doing rudiments on the pad for about 20 minutes. I did rolls, paraddidles, and flams. Then I did Single stroke roll on 120 BPM starting with 8th notes for 4 clicks and for the next 4 clicks doing 16th notes and keep switching. Same thing with doubles (but at a slower speed).
After that I basically just jammed on my set using my metronome click and switching up speeds. In the middle of jamming I did this mini drum solo/bass drum excercise. I had my metronome on 120 BPM and I play continous 8th notes on the bass drum. Then fill it in by basically doing a fill around the kit, pausing, and doing another fill. It actually sounds pretty cool. :dancing:
So ya, that was my practice session.
I played to the same song like 80 times, then just rocked out. Kinda "wrote" some cool jazz riffs just to switch it up a bit. Also looked for my lost drum key and pondered the purpose of my existence.
I was rummaging through my record collection and found an Aretha Franklin live album. Threw it on and jammed out with my dowel sticks. LOVE IT!
Dug through an old Modern Drummer from 1988 and found a pretty fun half-time shuffle thing from Chad Wackerman. Funny how this stuff doesn't lose its relevance after 22 years. I am bummed I threw away all the issues I had from the 80s ('cept for this one that was stashed in an old trap case...)
Good stuff!
Oh, and I watched my 22 month old son make a racket and throw my sticks everywhere. Hey, you gotta start somewhere. It's fun to see the first explorations of music!
My drums are still in their cases after taking them to church yesterday. I did call GC to see if they had the drum heads I want in stock. They didn't.
I tapped out random beats on my thighs and tables at school lol.
Same as NIM, then I got home and played along with some Paramore. Also pondered over whether or not I want Meinl Byzance cymbals or not.
I sat in on a jam with Iron Maiden because i kidnapped Nicko and left him tied up in the back room. But in the real world, I tapped my fingers on my desk at work to some Joe Satriani. That's as good as it gets I'm afraid. Damn those day-dreams!! :icon_mrgreen:
i ahhh ,,, thought about my drums today ... thats about as close as i got .
Just something to dream about, right? Byzance. The wallet eating cymbal.
Cleaned my car and got it all ready for transpo. :drumset-3:
Streamed an online lesson, and made up a blushda -flam tap lick.
I played a few tunes, then broke it all down and stuffed it into a suitcase, so that I might take it home with me. Say what you like about e-kits, but they do have their advantages. Then I went online to a website called drumchat.com and typed into some boxes.
What a great day!
Warmed up for half an hour, then had a two hour band practice. Then I had a drum lesson and another hour long band practice.
your band must be super tight zak
I have had the kit back up for a week now after 3+ months of being stored in cases. So I am tweeking and torque the set getting it just right. And I put an extra AX-25 clamp on my newly fabed snare basket for added support. It exceeded my expectation. F/T
