Welp, I'm officially saving up for my dream set (got a ways to go)
First off, I really like my Saturn V. It's pro level all the way but I knew deep down it won't be my last set. So I've had some talks with the wife and she's on board too with me saving up for my dream set. It's going to take a long time but it'll be worth it. Now, the fun begins as to which set it'll be...Since it'll be most likely a couple years until I save enough to go along with trading in my Saturns, I'm not sure which set will be available. But as of now, I have it narrowed to 2(though this could change closer to when I'm ready)....Those 2 sets are:
4pc Tama Star Walnut---shell only, no snare
or
4-5pc(no snare) Tama Starclassic Bubinga
sure the Star Bubinga is an option but I like the attack of the Starclassic Bubinga's more....of course I'm not sure the availability of the Starclassic Bubinga's in the future, so we'll see.
Do I absolutely need a set like this?
nope...but I've been playing for over 25 years, put in my time, money, and other sets....now it's time to go for the big one.

Very good choices for the "dream kit" Peter. The wait is gonna be tough.

thanks!!! and yes it will be....it's a lot easier to let the wife know I'm saving incrementally, especially since these will be pricey sets.... Luckily I can be very patient when needed lol.

Very nice choices, but, I'm not sure either of them is really a step up IMHO. Always nice to have goals and objectives to work towards.

Me either Tom. Here's how the washers look on a Tama 7x13" Tamo Ash snare.

Hey, if you are looking for any hardware to go with those TAMA's I have a bunch of Star and Roadpro hardware that can be a really good deal as opposed to buying new. My stuff looks like new but with a very affordable price tag.
Cymbal stands, hat stands, tom stands.....even a pedal or two may be available.

If the lock washers look too tall, opt for the TTL10 plastic lock washer instead:

Awesome thanks.....it's going to be a while until I can pull the trigger but I'll definitely keep you in mind.....might need a double tom stand for sure.
