If you could have any drummer's technique and overall ability. Who would it be?
Mine would be Buddy's with a side of Joe Morello.

man tough question... John Bonham with a side salad of too many to list
Not sure I could actually name one...or just one. I can find traits in almost every drummer I hear....from Buddy to Ringo to many of you guys on this very site. That said, I’m not a huge fan of any of the so-called “famous” drummers.
Cozy Powell & Thomas Lang
Dave Weckl all the way.
Tough question, today I will say Steve Gadd
Steve Smith
Mitch Mitchell
In answer to the question - "overall technique and overall ability", for me it would obviously be Buddy Rich. He could play anything any other drummer could play and play it better. But no one yet has been able to play everything Buddy could play. And, the things that some drummers have copied have never been played with the overall speed, musicianship, taste, and downright audacity that he played them.
Not only did Buddy play with astonishing and awe-inspiring skill , he did it night after night after night after night for over 60 years. He was a demon on fire burning up the stage like no drummer ever before or after. So, if I could have even a modicum of his technique and ability I would be very happy indeed.
Vinnie Colaiuta
I can't pick just one. Tony Williams, Vinnie Colaiuta, Mark Guiliana, Chris Coleman, Virgil Donati, Dave Weckl, Jonathan Pinson, Dennis Chambers, Tony Royster...
So many explosive drummers out there with phenomenal chops.
Davikah!!! I find her drumming fun to watch and it's always interesting.
After that:
Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Beckinsale.
Bonham & Lombardo :punk:
