Choosing a second crash. Help required!
Hi all.
Just after some advice on a second crash for my kit.
I currently have a 16" Sabian SBR which I bought as part of a kit which also includes 14" hats and a 20" ride. As I'm playing a lot of rock it would be great to add a second crash to the kit.
Can I pretty much choose anything or will I have to be considerate. I understand that there are thinner and thicker types which offer different tones, but just wondered if anyone knows what works best with the Sabians.
Thanks in advance.

Going out on a limb here...but probably other Sabians!
all the best..

I'd put a thin to medium thin 18" with it. And stick a splash or two strategically around the kit. Keep them thin as well. Sabian or Zildjian. They're pretty interchangeable anyway.

I would say Zildjians because at one time Sabian and Zildjian where basically the same family. Two Zildjian brothers split up and one started Sabian. Just saying.

18" Sabian SBR. Stick with the same, they usually compliment each other.

I was going to say the same thing. A brass sbr isn’t going to sound right with a b20 or even a b8 cymbal. If anything, I had a b8 crash, ditched it and got aax b20s

I like this too.

Do you like the sound of your cymbals now? If so I would also agree go with the 18"
Bigger the better in the rock world.

Get two good used cymbals and retire the SBR. Peace and goodwill.
