The Paiste 3000 series are a great set. I have a 3000 medium ride and its great. One member, Totti (now inactive) had 3000 Rudes iirc and he loved his too
Thanks!!!
Where are you located? I sold one of those late last year... great cymbal!
Paiste custom made for me a 3000 RUDE splash (the red writing's all virtually worn off).....best way I can describe it is it's like a "splashy-bell"....which is the effect I wanted as a complete contrast to my other splashes and effects. I've also 10" RUDE splash that's more like a mini-crash than a splash.....and years back I had two other RUDES....a 16" Crash and an 18" Ride/Crash.....would you believe I cracked the 16"??? (lol)....they were the older RUDE series with white lettering.....RUDE had been issued with white, green and red lettering at various times. They are certainly good for loud situations but they would sound too raw together with other Paistes (if you were playing a low volume situation)....nevertheless, that's only my opinion. Nice that you came across a Paiste RUDE.
I had that cymbal when I was in in high school ('88). I had to be careful with it, because my bandmates would complain that it was too loud. Eventually, I cracked it. Some have said those cymbals were too brittle and broke easily.
The rest of my cymbals were Rude 1000's, which played at about the right volume for me.
I have the exact cymbal on my set now. I like it as a nice dark crash. My uncle gave it to me as a gift when i was 12. However he didnt mention there was a hairline crack in it...oh well, a gift's a gift. anyway, really nice cymbal.

I'm in Kansas City, Mo. I got this one this summer. So far I like it. It has that recognisable bell sound from the 80's that I remember. I rarely crash it though, use it mostly as light ride and for the bell.
Great info guys, I'll have to be careful not to crash it to hard. Don't wanna break it.
Still loving my Paiste 3000 Rude Hi-Hat 13, 13 years never change my HH even once !
