You can never tell. When the Rams QB went down in '98 (I think it was '98), Curt Warner was throwing paper towel rolls around in a store.
The story goes that the owner and coach went out to dinner after the QB went down and the owner thought the season was all washed up, and, according to the story, he put his head on the table and cried. They brought Warner in and the rest is history.

Re: Let The Playoffs Begin
It was a little bittersweet today having been living here for 13yrs now. I like the Falcons but also having been born in San Francisco and growing up in Sacramento I couldn't be happier for the 49'ers. GO 49'ers! for the Super Bowl win!

Re: Let The Playoffs Begin
Super Bowl.......Ravens 24.......49er's 10.
On another note. Did you know that Georgia Tech once won a game 222-0.

Since I've been a long suffering Lions fan. I have to resort to humor, which is better than getting pissed, or being bummed out or embarrassed.

I think the Ravens are going in hot. I'll stick with my score. If they can make Tom Brady look like a high school QB, they are going to be hard to beat.
Have to say that I don't like the 2 week BS. The game should be played next week, and should be treated as a regular game. Never did like all the hoopla they have put on it.
If you asked the players, I'd be willing to bet that they would rather play the game next Sunday.

oh well not my first pick. I really liked Madonna's halftime show last year. Wanted to see that as much as the game and she looked incredibly hot! too.
who cares if she lip synced (some of it)
49'ers 34 Ravens 17

Good point. Brady is one of the all time greats. I've said all along that Kaepernick doesn't have the experience to get it done. So far he's proven me wrong but he's got a challenge in front of him.
That being said, I'm rooting for the 9'ers.

Raven had big problems with RGIII and the Pistol Offense. Kaepernick poses same problem for them. I think Kaepernick has a big day and SF wins going away.

I hope so. I desperately hate the Ravens.

Re: Let The Playoffs Begin
Kaepernick is good, but he's not Montana, and he isn't as slick as RGIII.
Being a Cowboy's fan, the game doesn't mean as much to me, but, I think the Ravens are going to throw everything at him and he's going to throw 2 picks.
I love games that come down to the last 2 minutes.

Re: Let The Playoffs Begin
The Ravens D really shows it age at times.

Re: Let The Playoffs Begin
I've been a 49er fan since 1981. Before then it was the great players of the past, Bart Star, Lenny Dawson, Joe Kapp, Roger Staubach....the list goes on and on. I see a flash of greatness in Colin Kapernick but he must be able help carry his team and win several Superbowls before I can consider him in the same league as Joe Montana.

2nd half, Pats-Ravens. They looked pretty good to me.

He has potential (which is a french word meaning you haven't done anything yet) but this is the "Big One". The pressure is on, big time.
I think that the 1st quarter tells the tale. If he can move the ball downfield, then I think the Niners win it, but, if he gets stuffed a couple of times, I think the Ravens win.
I'm reminded (in baseball) of a player named Norm Cash, who came up and in his 1st season hit .360, around 40 HR's and about 140 RBI's, after that he never broke .290 in his career.
Point being, RGIII and K are new. They are doing things that throw defenses off. The Ravens, right now, are looking at game film of every down K has played. He will get some plays in, but, I don't think the Ravens are going to play him the way he might expect.
I just hope it's a good game, I don't like blow-outs, (unless, of course the Boy's do it) I like games that come down to the last few minutes.
Trivia. Did you know that Dan Marino didn't rush for 100 yards in his whole career?

See? I learn something new from you everytime I read something you've written lol!! Hahaha...I love your French!! Potential!!! That was too funny. Oh yeah, I've seen Marino scrambling for his life during the 1981 Superbowl game in Stanford Cali. against the 49ers. Man, he was running for his life!!!

Marino wasn't exactly the most mobile QB I've ever seen.
Montana wasn't a speed demon either, but he could pick defenses apart as good as anyone.
Before the last Super Bowl, a paper up north ran a poll asking if you had to pick 1 QB for the "BIG GAME", who would you pick.
Montana was the winner by a wide margin.
If you ever get a chance to see NFL films on the 49's-Bengals Super Bowl. Watch how cool Montana handled the last minute or so. You could not rattle the guy.
