i agree. the Zildjian A Customs will blow your mind. in fact, when you first take them out of the package...that is when they will sound the worst. A Customs get better with age! very nice choice
for 250 bucks you will be able to find a really respectable snare. just look into some of the ones your interested in and PLAY it before you buy it. test all cymbals, drums, etc before you buy it...
size, thickness and make all have to do with the sound it gives off. even cymbals that are exactly the same size, thickness and model can sound different.
