I really enjoyed watching that. And the music sounded really good, from a prog-metal fan. Great work.

I've gone through 4 rides before this one. This is a keeper for me, does everything I want and has great tone.

I've had both the AAX Stage and AAX X-Plosion hats. The Stage's were an all around good set. They do everything well but personally after playing them a while their appeal to me was gone. They...
Rick,
I've been to both places. And they are both great shops. I bought a snare drum and splash cymbal in Memphis, and a ton of other stuff at Vic's. Vic's just has more room and a TON more...
Thanks, Bish! I have to resist the urge to play them every night. But I almost never do resist...
They call me...
I've been using them on my floor toms, but I decided to replace my worn out G2 heads with these. They definitely do not need any muffling, they have significantly less resonance than the G2 heads. ...
Here is my splash arrangement. 10" Meinl China splash to the left of my main hats and Sabian SR 8', Sabian 11" Mike Portnoy Signature splash with 8" Radia bell, and then Sabian Mid Max Stax.

I just couldn't resist, with Sabian's AAX sale, and Guitar Center's 15% off cymbals last weekend. I've wanted these since the Cymbal Vote came out, the 14" AAX-Plosion Hats. They are SO crisp, and...
Yeah, I gotta figure out what I'm doing wrong either when recording or what. I wish I had someone knowledgeable in that area that could help me. I bet a few minutes would go a long way...
Ok, I made another recording. I bought a Kelly Shu kick drum mic holder and replaced my ported front head with a closed one. The difference is very noticeable in the kick sound. I may have to do...
My screen name is my job. I'm a funeral director and embalmer in Illinois. Have been doing this for almost 20 years, and every time I think I've seen it all, the next call comes along and amazes me.
EXACTLY! That's why I own one.
You can make your own pretty easily. I made mine out of acrylic, 6" extruded tubing. I got a 6' length and made a set of four. They sound even better knowing that I made them myself.

Thanks pastor_bob!
Here is a better picture of the finish I stole from Google:

Yes, AJ did a 4-5 minute solo. He was almost invisible back there! Mike was the only member who came out to hang with the crowd.
You will LOVE them!!! I've been playing my new B/B kit for a month or so.

Each drum is individually miked as well as 2 overheads. This is my issue, I'm using Reaper thru my DAW, and I'm not sure if I should be running all the volume sliders at 0 gain in Reaper, and...
Here's a better pic.

I think I've finally got my kit dialed in as far as sound and miking goes. My 15 year old son plays guitar and he and I recorded this totally impromptu jam. No guidelines or preset ideas, just...
My rack is invaluable to me, because of the size of my kit and the mics. I would have no room for all the stands I need for cymbals and mics if I didn't use the rack.

I've seen both Adrenaline Mob and Winery Dogs shows in the past month. Both shows were poorly attended, although the Mob was playing some one-off warm up shows before opening for A7X.
The Winery...
Go for the 8. It makes those long rolls down the toms so much more satisfying.

I will be there for certain with my son and bringing a couple of friends for their first time! Can't wait!
It's a Kickport FX. It enhances the low tone and helps remove any overtones.

Here is my new Tama Starclassic Birch/Bubinga kit in Blue Nebula Blaze. It replaced my Silverstar Tamo Ash 7 pc kit.
