Hey Russ, looks like you've got a six stroke roll ending with R on the 1 (assuming you're doing this as 16th note triplets). I see/use this type of lick a lot. Cool stuff!

Actually people use snare stands for tom mounts all the time. The problem is that it actually sucks a lot of the tone out. They're great though for a hip look and a muted tom sound.
I actually have the exact ride you're asking about, and I really like it. Most people don't like 22s because they get out of control too easily, but because of the dryness these ones don't get too...
My latest cover, hope you guys enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBhhDSHpa5g
I have an old 6" Sabian B8 splash, I don't think they're too uncommon.
I don't particularly like Guitar Center, but honestly these things don't seem that bad to me. As far as the gong goes, did it actually say (whatever brand) gong and not mention stand at all? As far...
The Language of Drumming by Benny Greb is definitely my favorite drum DVD. Might take a couple watches to really get it, but it's packed with content.
When Vic bought that particular factory, there were about 6 people making rolling pins, so rather than firing them they just kept them on board and made them Vic pins.
You could get a collector's series with that finish and black hardware, just no HVX shells.
It'll make it a bit trashier. Probably not too crazy since you're only doing one, but it'll start to get the sound the O-Zones and A Custom EFX cymbals have.
Obviously this isn't long term, but I think Simon Phillips is in town this weekend and is giving masterclasses at Don Bennett. I'm sure they could also point you in the right direction.

Secret weapons is the drummer's encyclopedia for technique. I haven't come across anything as comprehensive yet. That's one that everyone should own!

Very cool! I covered the same song a week or so ago: Muse | Hysteria | Drum Cover by Cole Paramore - YouTube
dropdtune, I can assure you personally it wasn't by any means how "sweet" each deal was. He has the same deal with Gretsch as he did with DW.
Thanks guys, really appreciate it! longgun, that's a Collector's Birch kit actually.
Mostly covers, hope you guys enjoy!

Who is the drummer for Mark Ronson? I actually want to know...
Just clarifying; I'm pretty sure APXs have been discontinued for a few years.
That's one of the best steals I've heard of on DC! Luck to you!
A tip I got from the president of Paiste was to use Pledge (NOT citrus), super fast cleaning, incredible results and doesn't wear away your logos!
He has a big blog post on his switch. He'll be working with DrumChannel (works closely with DW) and now plays exclusively DW drums and hardware. Now we just need to see how long it'll take to switch...
