Re: my first cracked cymbal :(

With Wuhan, you get what you pay for. $40 dollar crashes that sound pretty good for a few weeks, then they crack. The worst are the china cymbals. Man they sound good...for a month.

    Re: Cymbal Box Sets

I personally think the most versatile cymbals out of those choices are the A Zildjians. They've been around forever, and have just a 'perfect' tone that fits everything IMO. (Well, I'm a fan of the...

    Sticky: Re: Sabian Cymbals

I'm a Sabian fan too, their prices have always been better to me. That's not to say I won't consider other cymbals though. =D

I use a 16 AA Medium thin crash, and a 20 XS20 Medium ride. Hoping to...

    Re: What tops the vision...

I was actually looking at a couple Tama Superstars. Seem like they may be pretty solid. The site also says that when you buy the shell pack you get the double tom arm. Anyone care to actually, I...

    What tops the vision...

In the market of a kit for $500-$600? I'm looking to get rid of the no name Chinese brand kit and get into one of the real companies. I understand the vision is marketed as a beginner kit, but I...

    Matching up cymbals?

So, I posted this in the chat box before, but wasn't fast enough getting back on to see the replies.

I recently got into my drumset again lately, so much so that I went out about a month ago and...

    Re: Chops

In the corps world, our chops are the muscles we use. Not just how good you are, but that raw material, like someone who can play a clean doublestroke at 150 BPM has a lot of chops.

    Re: Another dumb question

Yeah, I use the PDP stands, and that also has the possibility to put the boom arm in the stand so I can use it as a straight.

And just as everyone said, its just for more versitality. I have 2...

    Re: Tattoos

So Im planning on marching drum corps somewhere before I age out (22) and when I get back, I think I'm gonna look at a tattoo. The corps logo/emblem, and a set of tenors on me if I can. Either that...

    Re: marching drum heads

Well, If you have a free-floating drum, you should be fine with that head, if not, watch yourself. The black max is a very nice head, but it is kevlar, and it WILL break a weak freefloating/standard...

Sweeps, you can also refer to them as scrapes, which is what I will refer to them as.

The scrape is obviously just two hits on the same hand, on diffrent drums. The best thing to do to start out...
