I'm with marko, I had all the same equipment, I have upgraded the cymbal so far, looking at pedals now, I really don't have a problem with my throne. That's just me though.
I'd suggest evans HD genera dry for the snare, I use a powerstroke 3 for my bass, but that may not be quite the sound your looking for...:think:
All my hardware is Tama, save for one Mapex pedal

I can't speak for for an ec2's, but I have imperialstars (a much lower end set i know), but I switched from pinstripes to G2s, and I doubt I'll ever use a different head on my set. (as compared to...

I believe this would be the correct listing as of a year and a half ago, I was doing a lot of research on Tama before I bought my Imperialstars, and this was what I understood as being the correct...
i have a set of imperialstars, they sound good, especially for the money, just be sure you have money for new heads too, their stock heads suck. (don't they all)

Just one imperialstar set as of now, id love to get another (gretsch Catalina birch), but just purchased new cymbals so the drums will have to wait:confused:
Thanks for the advice, just an update, bought evans G2s for new batters, still saving for the G1s, never going back to pinstripes.:think:
I can vouch for the evans, i got a set of remo pinstripes to replace my stock heads, but just couldn't get the sound i was wanting, switched to G2s, amazing difference. Also, whatever you get coated...
