  1. Tama Stewart Copeland COB Signatre 5x14 COB Snare

Excellent condition. Comes with Gator bag. Just thinning the heard.

    From Tama:
Stewart Copeland's signature model is a faithful reproduction of the snare drum of "mysterious provenance" that he...
  2. Gretsch Catalina Maple 5 pc - 20" kick Deep Satin Cherry Burst

So my brother bought this in January to start playing again, but he's go tinitus and the doctor recommends he not play anymore.

The kit has only been a played a few times and then with Aquarian...

    Sticky: Re: Gretsch Drums Discussion

My brother wants to get a new acoustic kit. Hasn't had one in a long while.

Budget is tight so it's between Catalina Club Jazz and Catalina Maple. The Maple is a better "value" in that he can get...

Re: Drummers/ musicians and Art school

It's certainly not surprising the creative people can be creative in different areas, but I don't know that there's really any correlation. Could also be that musicians don't want to go to school for...

Re: my new Bish approved Drum Dominion Kit ;)

I'm happy with my Tama Stewart Copeland COB. I may look at the oak colored 7x14, the SLP Bubinga 6x14, or even a matching B/B 6.5x14 snare.
  6. Grestch Gold Series Maple 6.5x14 Stave Snare Barn Board Brown $350+shipping

This is a great, heavy, powerful maple stave snare in excellent condition. As you can see from the third pick, this is THICK drum.

I just don't use it, so seems silly to keep it. I'm asking...

I don't have a lot. Here's a few but nothing great. Two before a gig this past spring (same gig) and another from my basement setup for practice with Superpads and L80 Cymbals.

    Re: Discussion about Guns

I had the one with the molded handle, not wood. Thing was cool and quite accurate.

Re: GAS and the Snare drum

I searched and found old Ebay listings of it. I guess it was just for a limited time, as most of them are the Tamo Ash outer layer and 7x14.

I've just been looking around for another snare, so no...

I had a Meridian Maple for a few years, very nice drums. Very easy to tune, nice warm sound.

And at that price definitely worth it! Congrats.

Re: GAS and the Snare drum

Bish can you post a pic of the label on the box for that snare? I'd definitely be into a 7x13 B/B, but can't find one online anywhere. The only SLP I see at that size is the Maple.

Those vintage Superstars are gorgeous. I remember those mufflers well. Can't imagine wanting to dampen the sound so much anymore LOL.

    Re: Low Volume Cymbals

I have L80's and they are very good. They are quiet, but have a natural feel. I use them with Aquarian Superpads.

Re: New Tama B/Bs at last!

To each his own I guess. There's no empirical evidence in reviews, videos, etc... that this is at all a problem other than seeming "weird" to people when they first set up the kit.

    There are tons...

Re: New Tama B/Bs at last!

My drums don't have those plastic pieces as far as I know, but they are older than 2016, which might be what the OP has. ROCK SOLID.

That being said, the wobble in that video (which is older) is a...

Lugs on the 16" FT are a giveaway. Serves me right for looking on my phone!

  24. Re: Hard time keeping Superstar Classics in tune...

Although it requires more change, you can also try Evans 360 heads. Having my first set on my Starclassics I find they tune more easily and hold their tune better because of how flat they align on...
