Any thoughts on Armand hats? I found a very clean set of 14" Armands at a pawn shop for $70... I've always loved my two pair of Newbeats, what can I expect from the Armands?
Thanks, Cassidy

Nobody has mentioned Barkeeper's Friend. It's all I ever use now. And it's cheap.

20" Medium A Custom crash. Does it all.

Three Zildjian cymbals cleaned with Bar Keepers Friend. A 16" crash/ride and a set of NewBeats, all three with 60's stamps... so these are close to 50 year old cymbals. They looked a lot different...
If you're concerned about clean cymbals, and if you've ever read a post and taken it seriously... THIS IS THE POST! I found out about this yesterday and tried it last night.
1. Throw all your...
I know. The sad part is that I know the people that were having the garage sale, and they have no idea what happened to the rest of the kit. The dad said "my son thinks he lost them".
I said I'd...
Twenty bucks...

Since the discussion has been about Recording Customs, I just picked these up super cheap at a garage sale Saturday. That's the three pieces I got,tom arm (no tom arm mount), bass drum, 10" tom.

Driver's seat for my '83 Export 4-piece. Got this kit really cheap and so far like it a LOT! And yes, the far right cymbal is a 20" A-custom crash... it's a BEAST!
Cassidy...
Only have about 20 minutes actually playing them, but so far I'm impressed with them.

I can't get a decent birds eye shot but here is my 80's Pearl Export 4-piece practice kit in my basement. Classic rock sizes all the way... 13-16-22, with a 6 1/2 x14 COS Pearl snare. The two...
Hey guys... I just finally set up my newest set of drums, a Pearl Export from (I think) the 80's. This is a 4 piece kit that I'm going to call my "garage band" setup.
The kit came to me sort of by...
Hmmm, this topic may cause a lot of discussion. Here's a little background... we have a very good rhythm player that has run his Martin A/E into the P.A. the past couple years. He likes to turn...
I have a 100 watt keyboard amp... I kind of figured that the drums low end would kill that 12" speaker.
Thanks, I'll try it.
Thanks for the response... but, I have more drum mics than I'd ever need. And what you suggest will never happen. When we go garage band style I don't allow anything in the vocal PA except vocals......
Okay, I haven't used my e-drums for a gig yet but if I do, what should I run them through for sound?
Keep in mind that 95% of the time we play gigs "garage band style" with no mics on any amps or...
Actually, Viagra is a proprietary name. Our name is Viagara... like Niagara. Not spelled the same. Did that on purpose.
Thanks though!
Because it's a campground, we usually quit at 11:00 PM sharp. But the Manager was among the many asking us for one more.,..which turned into five "one mores" and we finished at 11:25. The band was...
Nope.... just went on and on and on and on and on and...
It's actually a shelter at a large county campground. They have bands four times during the summer, the three holidays and a hog roast/camper appreciation party. We do the hog roast (free eats), and...
The "Blue Pills of Pop"... lol.
Classic rock, with a dash of country and oldies. I share lead vocal duties with the rhythm and bass players. The picture is from a gig last Saturday night. Started with about 30 people watching,...
So, anyone know for sure what works with the Yamaha module?
I got a DTXplorer this week, almost new off Craigslist for $250. Works great, like it a lot. The only thing I really don't care for is using the normal pad for the high hat. Is it easy to switch to a...
Jordison, stop throwing stuff away. For a few bucks you can buy replacement tom mounts, even cheaper if you make friends with a music store repair guy with a drawer full of parts.
And yeah, from...
