I keep my pricy DW's at home so as not to damage the gorgeous bubinga finish. I gig with my inexpensive PDP's which are plenty adequate for a punk rock band.

I got it at the local GC in San Bernardino, California. I like the rack because it clears up floor space, plus the rack toms need something to hang from.

I bought these used from GC yesterday. They are exotic waterfall bubinga shells in pristine condition. These are too nice to gig with, & I'm dedicating my PDP set for a knock-around gigging kit.

I have a plate in my left hand that limits my grip--which actually helps me play some things better with my left hand. Hope your arm heals without residual problems.

I don't know whether the ability to read music has had an effect, but I am not much good at playing by ear. I need to have the music handy, or I just make up stuff.

I'm another who believes it's fine to mix cymbal brands. I have mostly Sabian AAXs, but I have a Zildjian A splash and an Istanbul sizzle splash. I like them all, & think they work fine together.

Thanks! I just got the rack & love how it opens up the floor space around the drums. It may be a bit too heavy to conveniently lug around to gigs, though.
