Maybe it’s the room! And i had a kick mic in the mix. Not too much hopefully!

I just saw the "reply with quote". I hope y'all know who I was responding to!! apologies for that!!
yea. the rocker is very nice. especially at a slightly higher tuning. the firchie also likes to be tuned kinda high. I wish I had more time to really dig into the tunings of a couple of those drums....
yea. it turned out well. my opinion of every snare??? we might be here all day if I start explaining that!! lol its easier to say than to type!!
thanks so much. the supra with the p77 might have been my favorite. but it changes all the time depending on lots of things. I also that particular supra has a black suede ebony snare side head so it...
hey there. thanks a lot. all of the what I used is in the video description. can't remember everything. I think an sm57 on snare, telefunken kick mic on the kick, and an aka c414 for a mono overhead....

sabian legacy 19'' crash and some type of meinl mb20 18'' crash. i've been trying to track down the meinl for years. i can't remember exactly which one it was but it was the crash from heaven!
I sit kinda high. I like to be over everything. It helps with fatigue on long gigs because I can get to everything easier!
I played the tama slp 13" snare on a gig a month ago. Actually I only used it in rehearsal for an outa town gig and I didnt like it at all!! I ended up borrowing a Ludwig Acrolite for the entire time...
Been using Vic firth hd4 wood tips for smaller gigs. It's a more solid 7a type stick. Vic firth dave weckl and Steve gadd for most gigs. And I've been doing a lot of pretty big venue gigs this summer...
I have an old 20"atlas crash/ride cymbal that I use and it sounds amazing. I also have a Sabian jack dejohnnette' 20" crash that is a great crash/ride that I love. I love crashing on rides. I don't...
I would buy more than one if you can. I go thru mine pretty fast even though I stack them on top of other cymbals. Even after they crack I still use it to stack. (Hey, that rhymes!!!) but if you're...
I actually hit these drums a little bit at a store here in the Washington, D.C. Area. Chuck Levins has some and they sound pretty good. The pics don't do them justice. They look incredible in person....
One of my buddies has this snare. I've borrowed it a couple times. Never had any problem with it. It's extremely easy and fast to tune. And sounds great!! He's had his for years and it's still...
Cool. Meanwhile, I'm gona shop for another one!!!! Need that snare back!!:wall:
Had that snare and it really came to life when I changed the top hoop. Never liked pork pies hoops on the snares. Too thin sounding. A gibraltar 2.3 hoop, pearl super hoop, or a dw true hoop it this...
