Hey all. I prefer to play either barefoot or in socks.
Thing is, the bass drum beater keeps wacking the top of my foot on the rebound, causing minor bruises and tenderness, which then takes a...
I had one of those iON eKits, it lasted about 6 months before it started dropping to pieces. You can add pads and assign sounds, I even built a proper bass drum pad and attatched a proper pedal to...
Looking at a lot of the kits on here, it seems like a lot of you guys prefer to use the plastic moulded two sided bass beaters. Whereas I feel more comfortable with the old fashioned felt beater.

You shouldn't be enduring pain. If you are something is wrong.
It might be worth booking a one off lesson with a good teacher to assess your technique.
I'm a single pedal user and I too get...
Wow. What a great band. Never heard of these guys, I really enjoyed listening to that.
Go on then. I'll have a go.....

Nice dress...... :icon_eek:
PB, your approach to moderation is pretty much spot on. It's a pity some of the other 'mods' don't have the same approach as you.
Seems Drum Chat doesn't allow links to anything these days.
Good luck Dustin, hope it's the beginning of something great for you and your band.
They don't get much more 'Stripped down' than this.....

Things have changed dramatically in the UK in recent years.
Mainly due to the current economic climate. But also partly because of greedy brewery's who are forcing people out of pubs with high...
I know exactly where you're coming from. I started playing (properly) about 5 years ago. I have hit a wall and feel like I'm not improving much these days, and TBH I'm not really that good.

Good call.....
Q). How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb...
A).....101
1 to change the bulb and 100 to argue wether Buddy Rich would have done it better.
Strange setup.
Plays his kick and hats left handed but has his toms running right handed.
Manager is bang out of order dude.
If you're happy with your band and get along with your fellow bandmates it would be a shame to quit, especially as they're not to blame.
I would have a...
Cheers Doug.
Yeah I was thinking similar thoughts. Also, If twin heads we're developed for sustain and resonance then why do so many people kill it with moongel and stuff?
Your Grandchildren have a better kit than some DC members have. :icon_eek:
Nice chops, cool tricks and a great sounding kit. :punk:
I would take the hoops off and check the shell is flat. The best way to do this is put the shell on a surface you know to be exactly flat (a machine bed perhaps) and place a very bright light inside...
Completely different scenario......
Cheers. I know how to tune, just looking at other options.
Thanks NR, this pretty much explains it best.
I know Pearl and Premier used to make toms without reso heads (I think they were referred to as concert toms). And I see many drummers with toms that either don't have reso heads fitted or don't even...
No worries. I did the same thing, started off with the stomp stomp thing, then switched to heel down. 5 years on and I still play heel down and have just about got to grips with 16th notes now.
