    Re: Hey you young folks...

It's not as easy as it looks? Then I'm hosed because I think it looks hard.

Some of us rank amateurs just don't have those chops. At least depending on the speed.

    I love Clive. I grew...

Re: Famous Bands Doing Doing unlikely covers!

One of my favorite covers of all time: KoRn doing Cameo, "Word Up."

Nice job! I wish could play a musical instrument, but unfortunately I just play the drums. :icon_mrgreen:

    Re: Keeping Tempo

99% of drummers wouldn't notice a change from the beginning of a song to the end of a song of 3bpm. But I have seen bands that have started at 120 and ended at 140 or better. Even non-musicians...

    Re: Rack on a budget

That is EXACTLY what I need. I have so much trouble getting even my meager set up exactly how I want it because the legs/feet on my cymbal stands walk all over each other. I wish I could find 1/3 of...
  8. Re: How long should it take to learn a full song cover

Two things I would like to add: First, t's not really a super easy song. It's not that difficult but Lars likes to change up his patterns within a time signature or part of the song to keep it...

    Re: Keeping Tempo

Timing on computers pretty darn accurate. The best in the business couldn't hope to compete with even your smart phone. And a dedicated metronome has only one function in life: keep time. I...

Re: ZERO creativity, but can copy well

^^ The more you play with people better than you the better you will get. Take criticism for what it is and try new things. Break down time signatures (4/4, 6/4, 6/8, etc) and do different things...

Hey DCers. Long time no DrumChat.

My band is The Velvet Dogs. We are a classic rock/rock cover band in the Nashville area. We are going to be playing our third gig this Saturday. This will be our...

Re: Dream Theater Medley Drum Cover

Very nice work. The only complaint I can offer is that I couldn't hear the ride, but it may have been my cheap headphones. Great drumming for sure.

    Re: Drums are still satanic??

Hmmm. Pastor Bob plays the drums and last time I checked he was not exactly the sort one would call "Satanic." So I'm going to defer to his rather exceptional expertise in this area.

    Oh yea,...

    Yep.

Definitely sucks. But on a positive note, your 2nd best friend just got a promotion. You should have a pint to celebrate.

    Re: drum throne got stolen

That stinks. If there is one thing I hate, it's a thief. Maybe you'll catch dude on it and have the joy of kicking him off it in the middle of a song.

    One can dream.

    ^^^^Yea, what he said.

It's a gift, so it's not polite to complain, but maybe you could work it so he is not out any more money and you get what you want.
