Re: How i eliminate spare snare buzz

Did you try laying the wives flat on the carpet under the pool table? Just curious if that would have stopped them from buzzing as well.....

Sticky: Re: So what drum related stuff did you do today?

I just received my new-to-me hi-hat stand. A Tama Iron Cobra Lever-glide. It was well used, but in great operating condition. There was a bit of light corrosion on the raised parts of the pedal,...

Re: Easy fix on discounted Tama Speed Cobras

I completely agree! There's no reason this particular bolt should have been tightened to the point of breaking off the head. If someone has an issue with a screw or bolt loosening over time,...

Re: Easy fix on discounted Tama Speed Cobras

I used a regular drill bit to start a hole in the center of the broken bolt shank, then used an EZ Out, which is basically a left-handed drill bit, to extract it.

    Re: Changing Resonant Heads

Yeah, big difference! Sounds great. My 16" floor tom currently has Remo Pinstripes on top AND bottom. I'm seriously considering swapping out the reso for something thinner.

Re: Easy fix on discounted Tama Speed Cobras

I agree! And even if you couldn't get that screw out, they worked just fine as is. The only thing was, you would have to leave half of the driveshaft connected to the slave pedal. Either way, it's...

Re: Easy fix on discounted Tama Speed Cobras

It was too tight to tap. I went full boat. I drilled it, and used an EZ out. Only broke one drill bit in the process. Lol

Easy fix on discounted Tama Speed Cobras

So I got this set of double Speed Cobras from eBay for a helluva deal, because one of the bolts was broken off in the hole on the drive shaft. I knew I could fix it, so I jumped on the deal.

Poll: Re: Rack tom: suspended, or stand mounted?

I hear that as well! I guess I should have mentioned, I don't play out, just at home. But being that I have the equipment to suspend it, I'll probably do that.

Poll: Re: Rack tom: suspended, or stand mounted?

Well, being that I DO have the suspension mount, and I DON'T have a spare snare stand, I'll most likely go the suspension route. Thanks for your input guys!
