Good tip, Bish. I use earbuds with attachments that act like ear plugs. Work great. The only time I don't use them is if I really need to hear my drums.

Cool thread. It sounds like you have a lot of knowledge about the matter. I'd like to add the Gretsch Catalina series to the intermediate kits. The kit sounds really awesome for the price.
Impact pads most defnitely extend the life of your batter bass head. I reccomend it. Great advice from Slinglander. Thanks!
It's twisting my brain just looking at these lol!
I would suggest moon gel for sure. It will do a better job than the napkins and look ten times better.
I do rudiments on the pad to practice and warm up. But the only rudiment I use on the kit is flams.
beauties
I am very curious about these drums as well. They look INCREDIBLY. Some of the most beautiful sets I've ever seen. I would definitely like to hear a set in person. That video with Brent Easton...
I would definitely suggest new heads. Try the Evans HD dry batter if you do not like the overtones. Try that and give it a tight tuning. If you still are not pleased with the tone, then apply...
Wow these are some great looking Gretsch sets. Keep up the good work dudes!
It will be cool for you to try something new by simplifying your kit. Good luck!
I was going to suggest the Pork Pie BBB and then I saw your last post. Lol But I've had it for about 5 months. It's great. It would definitely fulfill your LOUD needs. It has a great crack...
Sounds awesome guys. Creative idea on your parts. Let us know how it goes!!
Aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I agree I also have four cymbals and currently love the set up and sound
Yes
I changed my batter heads first when I got my kit...i changed resos about a month after that.... I've had the same heads now for about 10 months
I keep it between noon and 10 pm
Keep practicing! Don't be afraid to slow down the tempo to make sure you get your technique down. Every day you will improve.
Keep working at it. You are gaining experience every day you experiment with your new recording equitment. I personally do not know how to use recording equitment for drums. If I ever get the...
Great playing Zack. You certainly have the chops. You deserved to win that contest. Your drum set up is also very interesting. No high toms huh? It certainly works for you. Keep up the great...
Like Matt said - every drummer has different preferences. There are millions of different head combinations. My current set up is coated Evans g2s on toms over clear Evans g1s. On the snare - also...
is this the best sounding snare recording ever or is it just me??

I completely agree man. I feel like some people scowl at drummers that use external muffling (e-rings, moongel, etc.). But I think it's all about the type of sound you want. There are so many...
Awesome work Signia. It looks awesome. Definitely looking forward to the finished product.
Awesome bass drum set up. It's the same as mine! The two heads really bring out the best sound for my bass drum in my opinion.
