Re: 24 bass drum for small kid ?

    I used a vintage Slingerland kit once a week for years, it was a 13", 16", 18", 24" setup. I'm 5' 6". (I'm a small kid disguised as a sixty year old man.) lol.

    It was never an issue.

  6. Re: My wife and I just returned from vacation.

When my wife and I travel we usually find some drum related stop along the way.

When we visited NYC we went to Steve Maxwell's shop, in Nashville we stopped at Fork's, on a trip to Chicago we...

I just got a call from Pittsburgh Drum Exchange. My Gretsch USA Custom 13” tom, 18”, 20” & 24” bass drums and 14” x 6 1/2” snare drum all just arrived to the shop. I’m going to pick them up tomorrow!

    Re: Super Bowl LIV

My wife was born and raised in K.C. Although she moved away after college in the 1970s, we were rooting for them. It was a hellava fourth quarter comeback.

Yes, that is the same door.
  11. Re: My wife and I just returned from vacation.

I didn't order anything, but drums that I already had on order were in production while I was there. (Which is pretty cool!)

  13. Re: I moved, the Craigslist and FB Marketplace snags escalate

Those are great deals. I lived in DC and then Richmond for a while eleven years ago. I bought a LOT of gear during that time period. :) Congrats!

Re: Gretsch Stanton Moore snare drum

I do. From 1992 until 2008 a 1970s Gretsch stop sign badge 4160 chrome over brass was my primary snare drum, actually it was my only snare drum.

In the past couple of years I've played more gigs...

Re: Anyone get any drum gear for Christmas?

Nice pedal Tom! How do you like it?

My wife and I don't trade major gifts at Christmas anymore. Over the course of this year I spent a crazy amount on gear, so I'm certainly not complaining.

  21. Re: Aquarian Super Pads & Zildjian low volume cymbals, my quiet practice solution.

The Aquarian Super Pads and Zildjian L80 low volume cymbals arrived. I unpacked them and set them up in a couple of minutes. The pads are tight on my Slingerland drums with "sticksaver" hoops, but...
  22. Re: Aquarian Super Pads & Zildjian low volume cymbals, my quiet practice solution.

Thanks guys. It is something that my wife and I both believe strongly in. Truth be told, it can also be fun. And without people like you who give the animals a forever home, we would not be able to...

I love the bronze, and the phosphor bronze snares, they are both on my wish list.

I did get a Gretsch USA Bell Brass in November of 2018. It is a monster.
