Frost is real close Leg. When I was a kid we used to go huntin at Navarro Mills lake. After dove huntin one day, my buddy's car broke down and we walked that 9 mile stretch between Italy and Frost...
Wow... I had a blast! We ALL had a blast and I wasn't nervous enough to even notice it.
We played well and everyone seemed to like us, no fatalities anyway.
I did mess up a couple times but...
All ya'll-- thank you so much for the words of advice and encouragement. I am really surprised at how many people on here actually took the time to comment.
(well, no I'm not)
I'm on here a lot...
I'm 53 and have only been playing drums for about 2 years.
I never really wanted to be in a band, just bought the drums because I've always wanted to play. But only for my enjoyment, just like my...
Rick,
Hang in there man, you will be just fine. AND you will feel better in the long run! See ya when you get back.
Awesome, cant wait to see it. If you're not happy with it, you can send it to me and I will take very good care of it.
Thats was my first kit..and I still have it. It is a great sounding kit with proper tuning and good heads.
Thanks everyone. I'm finally on the receiving end of "pay it forward." They came with natural heads so I'm looking to get some "skyndeep" heads for them soon.
Then I can tote them to gigs without...
Yes, they all have handles too!
I took them and my cajon over to the neighbors last night for a party. He loves percussion too and has tons more gear than I do. He really liked them also.
I didn't know they made them either Marty, I happened across them on CL yesterday a.m. and emailed the guy. I have been looking for congas for a while so I jumped on them. He was asking $100 dollars...
I snagged these puppies last night from CL. Anybody ever seen Rogers congas before. I find nothing on them anywhere.

Thanks and yes, it's a blast!
Thanks. Yeah it's a Paiste that had a crack and it has been cut down to look like a gear. It has a bell sound to it.
Here's my current set-up. Mostly Paiste Sigs. But my splash is a Zildjian ZHT trashy sounding little thing.http://i365.photobucket.com/albums/oo100/bow1ter/Mapex11driver.jpg
When I first started playing 2 years ago, I would change my kit around quite often. Now that I have found out how I like it, I rarely move anything except a tweak here or there.
Wow.
Nice SCORE!!!!
I bought a Ludwig Acrolite for next to nothing at a pawn shop here that had the MFG listed as Remo Weatherking. I love it!
I got a red jingle thingy that sits on top of my hi-hat. It has a mute feature too that you can click with a finger and silence it and you can also hit it with a...
Me too.
Very Nice! Beautiful kit! Thats my dream kit also, one day I will have one.
Hmmm, never knew that was an option. I guess I'll give it a shot on my Mapex kit. Here's a pic of it.

I seem to like the 1 up 2 down set up the best.
When I bought my first kit (Ludwig) I bought every size tom available for it and played em all. I had 6 toms and a snare and 1 Bass drum. 8 pieces in...
