Re: Problem with Yamaha dtx450k snare pad

I have not had any problem with the Yamaha DTX 450 (great little kit by the way !) but "late8"' has given us a great solution to possible "slippage" problems with this , or any kit when "grip"...
  2. Re: Yamaha 450K - Ride Cymbal much softer than crash

I'm pretty sure it works with any 400 kit but best to check with Yamaha by going onto their website. I think the "brains" are all the same for the 400 series. As I say , its not particularly user...
  3. Re: Yamaha 450K - Ride Cymbal much softer than crash

Download the free DTX400 Touch app and see if it helps. You can adjust all of the 10 kits to your liking. This is a great little kit but I do have to say the app is not user friendly or intuitive ....

    Yamaha DTX450K - Cramped HiHat

I posted earlier on the forum about how I found that the hat on the 450 K was "cramped". I noticed in the assembly manual that the hat mounting for the DTX400 (lower kit) was different than for the...

    Re: Yamaha DTX 450 K

Found a quick fix for the "cramped" hi hat on the 450K. The assembly instructions for the DTX450K regarding the hi-hat are the complete opposite than those for the DTX400 (lower model). I simply...
  7. Re: advice for drumsticks for yamaha dtx400 kit

Good point by JR Zeigler . I would suggest every once in a while checking the lead fittings on the pads as I have , due to constant drumming , maybe vibrated the leads off the pads . Simple...
  8. Re: advice for drumsticks for yamaha dtx400 kit

Yeah ...pound away . I give my DTX450K a workout every week with "Rock and Roll" " When the Levee Breaks" and "Highway to Hell" and have a blast . I'm gettin' better and they sound great. The Yamaha...

    Re: giving it another try

I would just add here ...think about the Yamaha DTX 450 K. It is a good kit with great sounds and you can run your I-Pad through the console and drum away to your heart's content to any of the songs...

    Re: Gene Krupa

Both Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa were the inspiration for countless drummers and you could draw a line from their generation right up to a lot of famous drummers through the 60's, 70's and right up to...

    Re: Yamaha DTX 450 K

In regards my previous posts for this kit , has anyone set up their DTX450K kit with the Gibraltar drum rack system? This looks to me like a possible solution to the cramped "hi-hat-snare"...

Thanks "late8" for your thoughtful reply. Appreciate that you put a lot into the reply and your observations are definitely food for thought. The snare and hat are pretty much tied in due to the...

My first post here so hello to all. Just purchased the Yamaha DTX 450 last fall and I absolutely love it. I only wanted an entry-level kit so that I could get back into drumming (after over 30 years...
