I was thinking about buying the LP Mic Claw to mic my congas for live use and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. Also I can buy them with a gooseneck or with the Z-Rod and unsure...

I've had quite good results with SM57s and also AKG 414s. Although the nicest sound I've heard was from a pair of Bruel & Kjaer 4011s (now DPA 4011). The room made a big difference as well.
