Grissom, thanks that does help. Actually, the clear emperors are the stock heads on the Saturns. Thanks everyone else too... I'll probably end up trying one of the Evans types on the toms and EMAD on...
Grissom, what heads are you going to slap on those Saturn toms? I've still got the stock emperors on mine but they need replacement now. Thanks.
That is simply awesome Wonder1! Can you fit it into your pocket yet?
Like you (think I have the right person, sorry if not) I had not drummed for like 15-20 years until the last 10. But I did not get my own new kit until early last year, after about 2 years of intense...
Like the "Keith Moon-ish" tom setup with the double rows. That looks fun.
I know with Ludwig there are some sites you can go to and enter the serial # of the drum (right on the badge... interesting) and figure out the age or a pretty close range of dates to when it was...
Simply beautiful Saturns man. The black hardware that comes with the exotic edition, while not typically my favorite, looks great with that finish.
Meridians were a great line of drums (I'm sure you have a correct scoop on that) but I think Mapex did a right move with the Mars and Armory kits. Wish they had them on their site though. Man they...
Merlin, even though I bought a Saturn kit last year, I am jealous of your kit. Almost sprang for the MyDentity's myself (and was also going to get the 13" rack tom) and would have if not for a steal...
[QUOTE=philsmith;568156]Without the triggers in place, getting ready to do some recording.
Oh man that is a sweet looking kit philsmith. My buddy has this kit too.
+1
dude had no clue
Welcome geomorph. That is an absolutely insane deal for both the cans and platters! Hard to beat Saturns. Enjoy.
Nice Saturns inthpktplayer. We use the below-lighting strategy at my church to nice effect too.
I second the motion for Concept Maple pics van davis. Thanks.
Will do on the videos man. I think Peart uses a 20" tom that he mounts almost sideways, but he calls it his "gong" bass drum I think. Could be wrong.
Saturn's rule! Man those look sharp Bish. I love the way Mapex finishes the inside of the bass drum hoops on Saturns too. Killer.
Cool, thanks I'll check on the QR. Once again your Yamaha SCB kit is kicking. I wish they still made 6" toms actually, heh heh... but you got the octobans to cover it.
Sorry about your back. Scott Rockenfield is one of my fave drummers, and QR is my 2nd fave band. Man were they good!
Awesome... and is that a 15" floor on your left side? I will want to add some toms to my kit in a while, and I guess the Saturns will be expensive, but worth it to me. While I think the trend in the...
Cool Shawn76, I am digging that setup and the wide variety of sizes. Can you give us the rundown on those tom sizes? Thanks.
Nice kit MKJr and welcome to DC. I'm a lefty too but I learned to play righty from the start. It comes in handy to be a lefty as we have to be ambidextrous about almost everything in this...
Most people seem to comment that drilling a bass drum doesn't make a difference (or so minor as to not really be noticeable), but I've always disagreed with that. The difference may be small but it's...
Enjoy the Concepts! I'm sure you will like them, especially with the upgrades on that line of PDPs. Post pics and a review if you get a chance... would like to get some more info on those drums.
I'll second that. I've owned or had access to several PDP kits (and double pedals) in the last 7/8 years and never had a hardware problem with my kit...
