Trying not to succumb to GAS but...

what about this Gretsch I found locally? Seller claims it is brand new Gretsch Catalina Club. They dropped the price from $1600 (way too high) to $1250 still think it's on the high side. I already...
  7. Re: Returning to the Kit and Needing an Overhaul --

Being kind of a Tama guy I'd say the Starclassic Performer would be a great upgrade after Rockstars. Can do all the Metal or other styles really well.

  11. Re: Considering redo on mounted tom height - rack or stand or not?

Nice setup i-player. I'm as they say comfortable, but no sacks of money, plus I like my Tama Star Classic as is. I'm a few inches shy of 6' too so... maybe a hybrid rack or a tom tom holder. This...
  12. Re: Considering redo on mounted tom height - rack or stand or not?

Good idea for playing out for sure. I'm in a spot where I can keep the Tama Star Classic birch/bubinga in the house and have a playing out set. That said my playing out set is two mounted toms so...

  16. Re: Considering redo on mounted tom height - rack or stand or not?

hybrid rack looks like a nice option ... cut my Birch/Bubinga shells???? Nevar! I can see buying Hyper drive toms which are shallower. Love the DW stripey finish on that one set!

    Re: Bullitt Mustang

I love muscle cars, they were new when I was young. I loved Bullitt and Steve McQueen was so cool because he really drove race cars too. Hmmm I'll start my car fund now and buy less sticks. LOL
  18. Considering redo on mounted tom height - rack or stand or not?

I've played a traditional setup for decades, one snare, two mounted toms over bass drum and one or two floor toms to the right. I've always been slightly frustrated that I can't lower my mounted...

Re: Buying drums at guitar center a bad idea?
