That was hilarious. I sort of wish that the rest of the band don't realise that he's doing all those tricks behind them.

So my new snare heads arrived yesterday.

I've gone with the Genera HD over the Hazy 300 to start with. Really nice crisp punch to the snare now, very happy with it. Maybe slightly too highly...

    Re: Lars Ulrich

I love Metallica. Lars certainly doesn't play the most complicated patterns. But increased difficulty doesn't necessarily equate to better music.

Fade to Black and Sanitarium are two of my...

    Re: How Do You

    I use Windows Movie Maker.

Put the vid on from my digital camera and then load the track I'm drumming to over the top. Just make sure you don't have the drumming track too loud or it'll drown your...

    Cheers for the opinions guys.

I'm gonna order a Hazy 300 for the reso, and a Genera HD and a coated G2 for the batter to try. I'll let you know how I get on when they arrive.

Just realised I have exactly the same kit as your son Kaosotis. What head does he use? :icon_lol:

Maybe the Genera is the wrong choice then? I don't want it to sound dead. Just a decent, rounded...

Hello chaps, I'm looking for more advice on heads.

    This time, snare heads.

My G1 and G2s are still great on my toms. But my original snare head is looking pretty tired. The coating is off the...

Metallica, just before the Monsters of Rock Tour in Moscow 1991.

Playing in front of 500,000+ people.

Also, Lars' isn't a particularly complicated drummer, so i reckon I could blag the first 30...

Re: Zildjian K mastersound Hi Hat

Thanks for the replies. Well I play Metallica, QOTSA, RATM, Avenged Sevenfold etc. But then I do like to play some lighter stuff so I'm not too narrow.

You've got me looking at the 2002 range now...

Re: Zildjian K mastersound Hi Hat

I don't want them to sound too bright. Ideally crisp, but then not so much that it doesn't fit heavier rock music. If that makes sense.

I find my PST5 hats have no life at all.

    Zildjian K mastersound Hi Hat

    Hi guys, need some advice.

Have an opportunity to buy some nearly new Zildjian K mastersound hi-hats for about half retail price.

I have Paiste PST5 cymbal set at the moment, I'm looking for a...

Re: Snare wires resonnating while playing bass drum

I just put a tiny bit of TP on either side of the snares, and that seems to have done the trick without losing the snap from the snare.

The only thing is that I notice them making the snare buzz when I hit the toms. Is there...

Wow, alot more opinions! Ok, so now, using a bit of what everyone has said I'm going to go with uncoated G2 batters and G1 resos for my toms.

Heel up feels more controllable for me, learning heel down too but it does ache. Heel-toe I can´t get to work consistently.
