I picked up an RMV kit recently on the cheap, but it didn’t include any of the hardware. I’m specifically looking for mounts that will work with the 8”, 10”, and 12” toms, and am having very little...

I have a couple. Never any issues with anything I've put on them. I've used them for 16-18" crashes, 18" China and a 20" K Custom ride. I even had my X-hats clamped to one of them. No signs of...
RIP to a great, great jazz drummer.
Yup, it's true. Zildjian has no true hand hammered line any longer.
One of the reasons I've read about for the Zildjian/Sabian split was because of consistency. Robert Zildjian was unhappy about...
I don't think you can go wrong with either, and the classic AA Sabians and A Zildjians are very similar. I prefer the AAX line, and most of the HH and HHX lines from Sabian, but the Zildjian K's are...
I'm trying to learn to play open handed after many years of doing it the traditional way. I've wanted to do it since watching the Arsenio Hall show back in the 90's when the house drummer did it (I...
Yeah, one of the local Best Buy stores here started carrying music equipment a couple years ago. I've only gone in there once, and back then they didn't have a huge selection at the time. I don't...
Quitter!! :icon_lol:
Just kidding....good on ya for kicking the habit! I had my last smoke a little over a year ago after smoking on and off for about 15 years. I'd quit several times...
This is where I'm at. There will never be any hate of the Beatles coming from me, but I've just never really been into their music too much. Tons of respect and appreciation for what they...

Rest in peace.
AAX Fusion hats were mentioned and are a very good choice IMO. The AA Fusions are also a good choice I think, and may come in for a few $$$ less if you can find some used. I like mine a lot, and...
My opinion, get yourself another Wuhan if you like them (I know I do). A Wuhan is no more prone to breaking than a Sabian or Zildjian if your technique is sound and with the right mounting hardware....
Mmmmm...Leopard Ride.
Ahhhh...Earth Ride.
That's going to give me nice dreams.

Congrats! I absolutely LOVE the El Sabor line, and always have my eye out for them on the local CL and drum shops.
I'm another one for the alternating setup.
Try taping a quarter or 50 cent piece to the head and use wood or plastic beaters.
I can't remember who used to do this, but it was an interesting effect.
Wow...a year + and this thread is still going!
My take on Lars goes something like this...
He was a pioneer back in the day, but not a great drummer in my opinion, and I don't think I've ever...
Crashable ride? Take the K custom off the list. It's a great ride cymbal, but not a very good crash cymbal IMO.
Yes, the APX is a good sounding cymbal IMO but it is LOUD! I had the 18" and got rid of it because it was just a bit too much at times.
Unfortunately, they don't have a company website at this point that I've been able to find, and I've only found a couple sound samples floating around on the net. They're not widely distributed in...
Right on! Good to see other people starting to notice Kasza cymbals too.
:punk:
I first discovered these about 2 years ago, and have been a fan ever since. They're the best value out there in...
That's awesome that you're looking to pick up other instruments, and the bass is the 2nd coolest instrument in the world IMO. :icon_mrgreen:
I think it's crucial that drummers learn to play the...
The entire world of drumming has evolved...and the world of music for that matter. Drums are made with more precision, the hardware is more sturdy, more adjustable, more mounting and positioning...
+1
I was thinking the same thing. Good choice though. New Beats are indeed a great sounding, timeless and versatile hats!
Man, now you went and got that song stuck in my head for the next week!
That's awesome...well done!
36-24-36? Hahahaa....only if she's 5' 3".
