Well, I'm still here!! Check out the Lord of The Rings trilogy to get an idea of the diversity of our landscape. I challenge anyone on the planet to find another place where you can snowboard, wallow...
Must agree pastor bob. I've said it before, but it's worth repeating: trusting your ears is what it's all about. All the top brand cymbals sound good, it's just that I play Zildjians. Also how...
Cheers Vinny. Kapiti is a native Maori word. Say the word "carpet" and add a "y" and you've got it. I'm enough of a space cadet anyway!
Ghost notes were the classy little things I learned as "grace notes" - the flam and drag etc. But they're also single strokes. Burnard Purdie is a maestro. Listen to Babylon Sisters by Steely Dan and...

Drum mics and PA? Has anyone had the foresight to write a book? It could take volumes - no pun intended. Shure make a reasonably good starter kit for getting your drums mic'd and an 8 channel mixer...
If you could beg, steal or borrow a Ludwig Supraphonic 402 (second hand is fine - they're indestructible), that would be the way to go. They have stood the test of time, and they're just magnificent...
