I opted to try out a 7x13 Pork Pie Little Squealer in satin black. Support provided by my guitarist's amp head. ;) I really like it so far.

This changes often for me. :) But currently, my Sabian 18" AAX Freq Crash has been the go to.
Thanks for all the input. And this...
I have this same addiction with cymbals. :)
I have always jut used the snare drum that came with whatever came with the kits I have purchased over the years. I have decided I would like to buy a new snare. I am looking for some opinions on...
Correct on the BD and FT. Rack toms are 10" and 12". I'm not sure what series it is. The badges on them don't say. They have serial numbers on them but I couldn't find an answer looking them up. To...
I nabbed this drum kit for $150. A couple of the heads need to be replaced. But for a five piece Mapex, two stands, and a throne, I thought it was a great deal that I couldn't pass on.

This thread is sooooo awesome!
My primary kit is:

AAX 16" stage crash
AAX 18" stage crash
AA 18" Medium thin crash
AA 18" medium china
AAX 20"...
To the left, level with my tom, is a Sabian 16" HHX Evolution crash. Just above it towards the right, 16" AAX stage crash. On the right side, an 18" AAX stage crash and 18" AAX dark crash, 18" AA...
I have an outdoor show this weekend. Do I go with the 13" AAX Stage Hats or the 14" AA Rock hats. In the pratice room, I use the Rock hats. Just looking for some opinions. Thanks guys!

Sabian 22" AA Rock Ride with hand hammered fabrication. Great sound, slightly trashy.
Sabian 24" AA Metal-X Ride. This thing is an absolute BEAST. I love the way it sounds. Got it at a musicians...
I have a set of 13" AAX stage hats and 14" AA rock hats. No preference really. But I have an outdoor show coming up and I am probably going with the 13's. Those stage hats will really cut through.
I came across a good deal on some CAD DMYP's. Although I have only used them in the jam room, I am very pleased so far.

I pronounce it My-nuhl
Ludwig - For quite some time, I have called them Wiggies (wih-g-eez)
Paiste - pay-stee. To be fair, I don't use them. I have a friend that is exclusive to them and...
I have really enjoyed reading this thread :)
I like the b8's. In my opinion, it depends on the size of the room you are playing in. In smaller rooms (like a jam space or say a small coffee house)...
Where do you position the overheads? Do they pick up the snare?
We don't have a soundman. We Will probably hire one in the future. But right now it is just us. Plus, I like owning my own stuff.
Here is a flyer for our upcoming show!!!

This is my band. We are based out of Little Rock, AR. We are primarily a cover band. Slowly working some originals into our song list though. This is our Reverb page. Mostly raw recordings from shows...
I am in the market for some. So, I have a few questions. I have been starting on ebay and came across a few that seem to be good deals but I wasn't familiar with the brand (it was a company called...
Definitely wanting a hard shell case of any kind. Never thought of a small suitcase. One thing I have learned. Stuff in cases loads, rides, unloads, and goes to the stage much easier.
Does anybody have any recommendations for one? Gigging enough right now that I want the pedal safe during travel.
I have been having this discussion with my guitarist. He's got some mad skill, but this is his first cover band. By this, I mean the bar bands that go in and play the typical bar covers, classic...
Thanks for all the input, guys. It seems like a really good deal ($45 for the pair) and I may get them. Wolvie, i see (hear actually) what you are saying about the hats in that video. They cut right...
I guess I sould be more specific. They are Sabian HH Germanic 16" Crash Cymbals, with a Brilliant finish. Don't know if this helps or makes a difference.
Thanks Drumbledore. :)
