hey guys my band just posted some new music. There's noise and yelling, so if you automatically hate music like that, you've been warned.

I just got a 17" Paiste Rude Thin Crash. What has your experience been with these cymbals?
I get a nice thud with some click but not tons. I also use the emad with the larger muffle. But I have a couch pillow inside so it's not as big as a bed pillow. Plus I tune the heads to just a...
ok...I lied. I moved my cymbals. Now I'm happy. They are pretty sexy.
I think this is the set up. Nothing else really needs to be changed. I returned the tom clamp for the cymbal stand and bought a decent snare stand for my tom. It's sturdy...well...the whole thing...
I have a 2 part response. 1. If you like it then that's what matters. 2. since you asked for opinions...I really don't like double bass setups. I find them to be too large and when I see them...
I tried that. It wasn't going anywhere, but there seems like a lot of room for error/failure in a quick setup situation.

Thanks. The mount feels kind of flimsy. I think I'm going to return them and get another snare stand to mount it on. That way everything is sturdy.
Moved the mounted tom to the crash stand.
That's awesome. What kind of music do you play?
FWIW...I'm not looking to buy nor do I have anywhere near the money for something like that. I was just curious about them.
Dinosaur Jr. is awesome. I love that the original line up is back...
The guy that I'm going to take lessons from is $80/mo for one 30 min lesson per week. Very accomplished drummer and will hopefully be able to help me take a huge leap this summer.
Ouch. I have expensive taste. 2000-3500 is what I was hoping for.
I've seen Murph from Dinosaur Jr and the drummer from Baroness playing C & C drumsets. They look awesome and I've been to their site. Anyone have any experience with them? What am I looking at...
So this summer I think I'm going to take lessons in hopes of getting my chops up. What should I expect to pay? I've never taken lessons before and have no clue.
I played guitar for a band that the singer and myself wanted to get rid of the drummer...so...instead of being adults about it and asking him to leave...we both quit the band...then started a new...
Not sure about your money situation but buying a strong cymbal stand and mounting your toms on those is one way.
i'm assuming the tom mounts on the toms are like pearls where they actually go...
What type of set and do you use 1 or 2 mounted toms? Maybe if you could post a birds eye view of your kit that would help.
wood tipped 5A. preferably promark.
I enjoyed it as well. But when I see all these young bands I'm reminded that I'm almost 30...and then I get sad.
Cool. It'll be a long time before I have something like that of my own. But it never hurts to plan ahead.
Did the cardboard you put on the walls come with the sound tiles or did you just take a bunch of old boxes and cut to size?
They are on the outside. But it does look like they may be inside of them.
I'm not sure if thud is a good descriptive. Basically where you get a lot of attack w/o a lot of resonance.
